JUST GOT STRESSFUL!! Why won't she cross the road?
What happens here
The presenter, Josh, from Stoney Ridge Farmer, introduces the project. He explains that the current pasture, which is in front of his house, is worn out and muddy due to cows stepping on it. The goal is to move the cattle from this 60-acre pasture to a fresh 90-acre pasture across the road. He shows a geared reel with polybraid and Strainrite step-in posts, which will be used to create temporary fencing. He also mentions using a Greg Judy Bale Unroller later in the process.
Goal: Understand the project's purpose and necessary equipment for cattle relocation.
Tools and materials
- ATV — Transporting fencing materials and the hay unroller, and later guiding cattle
- Drone — Capturing aerial footage of the cattle move and pasture
- Geared Reel — Reeling in and out the polybraid fencing
- Polybraid Tornado Wire — Creating the temporary electric fence line. It's thicker and more visible than polywire
- Step-in Posts Strainrite — Supporting the polybraid to form the temporary fence
