What happens here

This video provides a detailed demonstration and explanation of the Hiltip salt spreader, designed for truck mounting. It highlights innovative features such as an extended auger/conveyor for improved weight distribution, dual capability for liquid brine and granular salt application, and a fully automatic system that adjusts material delivery based on vehicle speed.

All right, Frank. You have redesigned the salt spreader to do something nobody else has. Tell me about it. >> Well, we have a made an extension auger extension and conveyor extension to get a better actual distribution on the truck. So, we have extended this with 2 ft in addition to the standard length that we have on the feeding system. >> So, really what you did is you created a salt spreader so that if a guy owns a flat deck like you see here, instead of kicking this all the way to the back and making the weight go over the rear axle, you now can push the salt spreader to the center of the truck where it's supposed to be and you just extended out the shoot. >> Exactly. And on top of that, we also manufacture the truck beds. Also, we make special solutions for that as well, so you get additional increased or improved actual distribution on the truck. >> And with a Hilltip, you actually have a bladder on the outside of the salt spreader that will spray liquid brine as well as granular from the center and you can actually combine the two and pre-wet your rock salt as you're going down the road. >> Right. Fully automatic. >> And when Frank says fully automatic, what he means is if you speed up or slow down, the machine will compensate and deliver the exact right amount whatever speed you're driving. >> Yeah. >> That's by Hilltip. >> Made in United States. >> Thank you, sir.
