What happens here
This video provides an instructional guide on replacing a flimsy, budget bale spear with a more robust, heavy-duty model on a TYM T254 garden tractor. The process involves removing the old bale spear (or noting its issues), unboxing and assembling the new attachment, and securely mounting it to the tractor's skid steer quick attach system. The video highlights the benefits of a stronger bale spear, especially for handling heavy hay bales, emphasizing increased durability and functionality.

(6,765 characters)where it's tapered it crushes it in there so you never have to worry about it coming loose especially if you put gorilla gorilla tight yeah yeah baby guys welcome back to the Stony Ridge Farm this is a piece of junk and we're going to replace it today come along we're going to talk about it not the tractor but the baale spear we've got a new baale spear that I picked up on Amazon we're going to show you guys what a cheap bail spear does and what a good bail spear does and a cheap one [Music] bends guys welcome back to the Stony Ridge Farm this is your first time or your 50 millionth time here please hit that like button subscribe to the channel this is tool Tuesday and every tool Tuesday we like to show you something cool something useful here on the farm this is the tym t2 54 tractor and this is a bail Spear and this is a Maul and that's what I've been straightening these things out with so the bail spear has three times we're just going to get down and dirty with this real quick three times on the baale spear one big Spear and two little Spears what that does is it gives it three points of contact in the bail to keep it from spinning on the bail sphere that's cool that's important this is an extreme budget item I'm going to take you around it and show you how bent up it is and I don't recommend buying one of these because it is cheap it's junk and it's Fallen apart and it hasn't been used that much good D go get that groundhog get that groundhog get that groundhog good Farm dogs so this is a budget model Bale spear you can see it's rusting up a little bit that's normal surface rust not a big deal this has a spear that's bolted in right here just very much like the one that we're getting ready to unbox and this does not unbolt and it's very important that these are super super tough and you can see that this has bent over and over and over again and so has that one and I've had to straighten it out with that M right there now as we look over here you can see this is straight this is a skid steer quick attach but this one is not straight it's busted loose the well busted loose right here and it's just bent tore all to pieces guys this is a budget unit and it's not good but it costs the same as that Critter right there so why would we buy junk when we can get the same thing for the same price that's better that's the question so we're going to take this off the tractor and we're going to bolt up a new one good boy where's your sister where's your sister come Lexi so we're going to assemble this on the tractor why are we going to do that because it's right here not on the floor I don't have to wrestle with it I just put it on the tractor and Bam it it just all works out it works out so much better cool this is a new work cart that I got really really like it it's called work pro cheap and it works and you can beat it up I think it was 100 bucks always needing stuff to make life easier you ain't living right if you don't have one of these Klein uh awesome screwdrivers I think it's called an 11 in one you do everything with it there we go hang on to that man always needs a big hose clamp so again skid steer quick attach I'm going to pick up this piece and I'm just going to hang it right here we may actually have to bring this up as soon as I hang it up here so we can work at a good ergonomic level so here we go oh eat you could set this down on the ground and just pick it up with the tractor if you wanted to it's not that bad I'm going to say it weighs yeah 50 60 lbs okay lock it in place good to go we're going to start the tractor and raise this guy up a little bit contact Two Nuts right here and right there and one right here reducing this has a little indexed notch on it I'll slide it into the hole just like so the big one is going to be the challenge hopefully I've got a big enough adjustable wrench good that ain't going to bend remember what we had earlier guys that cheap bendable disaster look at this look how much more robust that is than the other one so it comes with a big nut on the end take the nut off that's simple this is tapered right here and it just simply slides in but notice it's red you can see the end of it a lot better than that black one what's more visibility visibility is key got to get our big adjustable for this Critter where it's tapered it crushes it in there so you never have to worry about it coming loose especially if you put gorilla gorilla tight yeah baby so that's it that's an upgrade a huge upgrade over the other one lot more robust frame check this out guys these are much much bigger much stronger they're held in place by a bolt and they can be replaced so if they get bent or damaged they can be replaced this can be replaced and so can this absolutely awesome this thing cost about the same is what the El Cheo cost and it's absolutely fantastic again nice big I think that's 2 in or maybe 3in Square Tubing all welded and gusseted right here yeah that's awesome awesome I am having a little bit of uh trouble matching up and that's fairly normal with a small tractor this is made for a full-size tractor not this little bitty guy typically I'm not out here feeding with my little 25 horsepower tractor this is just a prop to hold things up but that's it that's the bail spear that's tool Tuesday for this week just for fun I thought I'd show you guys what I got what I'm doing upgrading the bail spear again I like the red paint much stronger much more robust hay bale mover thanks guys hit that like button subscribe the channel come on back to the farm and see me there'll be links right here at the end of this video and probably some funny bloopers see you next time on till Tuesday on the Stony Ridge farmo come to theid kids living p and sweet that's way supposed to be Stony where's my work cart man leads a work cart yeah that's kind of rough right there is't it Cy man need a good work cart man CU it gives it three points of contact in the that's not three that's four three points of contact in that dog loves pooping on concrete man I got to get her over there in the woods better shape up cuz I need a man with a better baale spear than this one it really is I mean look here there is a Dr Pepper bottle in there I I ain't drinking no Dr prepper I got a neighbor prank right there here we go kids now there's no glare it's just a big old Shadow I've got a b-roll camera running right there so you can see me struggle both ways snug this guy up or drop it whichever one you want to do guys remember
