Instant Super Glue? One of the Most Versatile Tools to Keep in Your Tool Belt.

All right, here's the side and I'll accolade and I'll just call it super glue for short since that's such a difficult word to pronounce For me at least this is on the two that I have in my vehicle as you can tell it's been used quite a bit And it's an amazing product so some of us just know it as super glue But there's also a product This is an accelerator that I use that makes the glue glue instantly so you can move on with your project and not wait for it to dry and this is what I really like it comes in a pump bottle It also comes in an aerosol can spray and this chemical right here creates a chemical reaction that makes the glue instantly set and I'm gonna show you what it looks like and how it works right now. All right I'm gonna show you how I use this Sianno acrylate glue when it comes to gluing wood together when we're doing trim projects now here's A joint I just glued together and this I'm we're literally a few minutes ago And this is exterior trim right here and I glued that with super glue and you have a nice butt joint there Now that you can if you had a 45-degree corner going around a window trim or something like that You got a nice glue joint. It doesn't have a big gap and you can do a little bit of caulking and you won't be able to see that gap But this is how the glue itself works is you're just gonna put a little bit of glue on one surface And I'll show you how I use it and then I'm gonna talk to you about the drawbacks of how I use it versus The recommended method of using it now I take and put a little bit of super glue on the one end right there I'm gonna put my accelerant on the other end. I'm gonna put these together now and these will now Glue together Pretty dang quickly with that accelerant straight on there So the cellarant makes it glue extremely fast that is actually glued Together now instantly using the insta set so I put the glue on one side I put the intas insta set on the other side now If you're looking for an extremely strong bond like this bond is extremely tight I actually did the same method, but if you want the strongest bond What you're actually supposed to do is put your glue on one surface And then you'll put put the two surfaces together just like this And I'll tell you why and then you put them together and then you spray your Accelerant on your edges. So by putting it on both surfaces You get a better bond because it actually absorbs into both surfaces without the accelerant Accelerating it on the one side too fast and not absorbing now One of the drawbacks to that is is spraying put them together spraying this outer edge right here It takes a while for the accelerant to work its way across the glue and Get all the way across there so it takes longer for the bond to actually happen So it just depends on you know how quick you want this thing to set up This is the recommended method by the manufacturer of using the accelerant But I use it the way I use it put it on you know one side of the surface and then another side of the surface All right, so I'm going to show you how I'm going to glue a couple of pieces of exterior Trim together With this glue all right, so I'm going to put it my glue on one side. I'll spritz my glue with my Accelerant Put them together and see it let it set for a minute It's glued together Just like that. All right So I want to just talk a little bit about the application process of using the glue in the accelerant now the Recommended method for the best bond is to apply a glue to one surface and Then put your surfaces together and then spray your Salarant on the edge of the surface and that's going to give you absorption into both surfaces The accelerant is going to hit the edge work through the glue and eventually create your instant bond Now that's the recommended method now Did just get a really tight instant bond across a wide surface the way I typically do it is I'm going to put my glue on one surface by a accelerant on the another surface touch shows together and I'm going to get a really good bond Now if it's a really wide wide surface that I'm trying to glue together I've also done a method where I put my glue on one surface Spray the accelerant on the other surface and then hit the glue itself with a Salarant touch them together and then you've got yourself a nice instant bond You can see how it's gluing a porous surface together here pretty fast. Now this product it works for a lot of different things I've used it for Repairing all kinds of tools for plastic glass Venetian plaster. I've actually even Did a Venetian plaster repair on a wall with it where the Venetian plaster was coming off I put it underneath spritched it with the accelerant and I glued it I've used it to glue wallpaper also to fix tears in wallpaper now one thing I do want to share with you And this is a tip when it comes to the accelerant and the glue if you store these together This is a product that evaporates and through the evaporation process the fumes of the accelerant Will actually work its way into this bottle because this isn't an airtight seal and it'll cause your Sci-ciano accolade to begin to thicken and Harden over time. So it's a really good idea to store your Celerant in a zip lock baggy that way the fumes that are escaping from the container Won't contaminate your glue itself. So store it in a sandwich bag some type of Bag or airtight container. That's not going to cause a fumes to Accelerate your glue over time. So here's another tip. I've got some of the glue The super glue on my hands if you ever glued your hands together before and my wife has actually done that before acetone is a Chemical that you can use to get your fingers apart or remove super glue acetone Is what nail polish remover typically is you can get some nail polish remover Dumb it on your fingers start to move it and agitate it a little bit and eventually they'll come apart That's how I got my wife's fingers apart when she glued them together or you can use it to clean off the super glue Off your hands or any other surface and that is acetone Bob Smith industries makes a product used to actually remove super glue But I've always simply used acetone now here's another little Tip or trick that some of you may not have known what you can use super glue in a pinch for we use the Forfilling we use a you bond use bondo glazing putty or spackle But if I've got a joint like this that I need to actually fill and sand If I don't have any caulking you can actually sand super glue and you can use super glue as a filler so I can take Fill my crack right there and I can spray some Accelerate over the top of that it's gonna cause a good dry really fast and then I can sand it and what I'm gonna do is Take and build multiple coats of super glue on top of each other and sand them and you can use Super glue to actually fill small mix dings or Cracks that's gonna be sandable fairly quick. I'll sand it if I need to sand it if it was a flat smooth surface and then I'll apply another coat of super glue But that actually will actually fill that crack right there I can exterior paint that and you probably wouldn't even see that crack So here's a craft cardboard shield holder. That's Broke of ours and I'll show you. This was actually tried Somebody attempted to glue it with Gorilla glue which didn't work out so well we'll try gluing this with Super glue in a cellar and someone put that together Sprit some cellar on there give that time to activate and we'll see How well that's bonded and if we can continue to use this these things that there is a weak spot on these craft cardboard shield holders that they do break If you don't take care of them really good But now that is actually bonded on there Tap and see how good of a bond that is. So there you have it. Siano Accelerate Super glue and a cellar that I keep in my vehicle Use it to repair many things like broken ceramics. We had a ceramic fall off of one of our Shels actually our dog drug it off the shelf. It is a family heirloom something that was really important You used our Accelerate with our a cellarant and it fixed it and it's not brand new, but it's actually fixed.
