today's permanent repair Gil's got this all dug out unfortunately it's raining get the camera out of the rain and let's get to fixing we need to slap this blue Tracer wire on they want blue Tracer wire 18 gauge or less here we'll just go right there where that that copper started and that's where we'll put it here and we're gonna roll this whole scenario and so the reason why we put Tracer wire in the ground on a Pex or a poly pipe installation is so that it can be located when you call 811 and they dig you want to make sure that your lines can be located that way you don't hit it for future use so check that out right there and we'll tie it off by the meter once we get this PEX cut we got Gill's water main shut off right here that he just leaves in the Box I like it get that shut off he's gonna relieve a little bit of pressure over there give us a quick chop [Music] now we're just going to pop this fitting right here you can heat that up you can just kind of gently cut it is what I usually do to get it off and then bend it and it'll come right off okay when you have to clean your hands okay perfect and then that bad boy pops right out of there we've got a little slit in that there we go we're gonna clean that off it's real loosen this nut we don't have to take it the whole way off but what we're going to do is we're going to spin this down at an angle as much as we can and then we're gonna bring that line right up to here we want as much of this pipe as we possibly can down into that 24 inches Mark right two foot down since our frost line is 18. bring this one on up to ourselves okay I think we've got just a little bit more play down there so we're going to chop this little bit right here off and then we'll bring it up into the box because we didn't do that now we'll just pop this right up through here how's that laying down down there okay okay yeah yeah get some weight get it to where you want it so we're actually so you can see this down here our pipe is actually not down in the hole where we want it right there so he's gonna Gil's gonna pop a little sand down there I'm gonna get this setting almost exactly where I want that I'm going to make my final cut and plug it in it's just gonna take a sec it's always fun doing jobs in the rain ain't it let's just get ourselves rolling right here get that cleaned off make sure we get nothing in there grab our fitting [Applause] and that good right there just hold her in place for a minute get it to where it sits up and we can angle that down a little more where it needs to it's a nice thing about a meter connection bring our Tracer wire up through here tied off right here oh my gosh I can't even I got no no balance right here it's a slippery slope uh good to go we're all gonna open this bad boy up Gill's turning his water on and I'm gonna slowly open right here you ready okay yeah you know you can open it dude yeah just take the pressure off of everything oh dang it okay hold on for those of you that caught that awesome I I forgot to tighten up the meter nut right here that happens now let's go ahead slowly just open it up Gil's got some pressure there houses pressurized he's flown pretty good over there good to go now it's just backfill time he's got a bit more sand he's gonna pack it down with sand and then so Gil put some sand below the pipe and then filled sand over the pipe that way in no sharp rocks no anything are gonna puncture our PEX line and we're not going to have some issue when burying right he's not going to have too much issue because he's hand burying everything anyway but better safe than sorry PEX makes for a really simple main water service replacement right after a hole's dog it doesn't take that long to get your water back up and hooked up
