I Rented a $150,000 Bobcat Forestry Mulcher—Here’s What Nobody Tells You | DANGEROUS!
What happens here
Before entering the cab, ensure the mulching head is lowered to the ground. Inside the cab, locate the safety bar (Fasten Seatbelt) and pull it down. Fasten your seatbelt. Familiarize yourself with the machine's safety features, including the fire extinguisher mounted on the ceiling and the emergency exit handles. The orange handles on the side windows allow the door to be kicked out in an emergency, and similar handles on the rear window allow it to be pushed out. Crucially, if the machine's arms are raised and it dies, there's a red valve located behind the seat (left side) that, when pushed and twisted, will depressurize the hydraulics, allowing the arms to fall safely due to gravity. This is vital for emergency exit.
Goal: Understand in-cab safety features and emergency exit procedures.
