What happens here
For the armrests, you'll be using two pieces of 2x8 lumber, split lengthwise to create two thinner pieces for each armrest/leg assembly. Make angled cuts on these pieces as shown in the plans. Apply wood glue to the joints and secure them with pocket screws to form a sturdy L-shaped support. Align this armrest/leg assembly with the front and side of the chair, ensuring the top surface is flush with the armrest itself. Use clamps to hold pieces in place, then secure them with pocket screws (and wood glue) from the inside to conceal the fasteners. Add the front apron piece, which can have an optional decorative angle cut, securing it to the front of the seat base with counter-sunk screws and glue for a clean finish.
Goal: Assemble the armrest supports, attach the armrests to the chair, and finally add the front apron to complete the chair's structural build.
