What happens here

With the air filter pre-cleaned and the 'Pete Filter Cleaner' assembled, place the air filter securely back onto a stable support (like the bucket shown in the video) with its open end facing upwards. Carefully position the assembled 'Pete Filter Cleaner' onto the filter, ensuring the white top plate rests flat and securely on the filter's rim, and the central shaft extends vertically into the filter's core. Connect the pneumatic hoses from the 'Pete Filter Cleaner' to a suitable air compressor. Once connected, activate the air compressor. Compressed air will be forced through the hoses to the rotating nozzle head, causing it to spin rapidly. This rotation, combined with high-pressure air jets, effectively blasts dust, dirt, and debris outwards from the inside of the filter pleats. Slowly and steadily move the cleaner up and down through the length of the filter, covering the entire surface area. Continue this process until no more significant clouds of dust are visible emanating from the filter, indicating a thorough cleaning.

Goal: Deep clean the air filter using compressed air.

Tools and materials

  • Air Compressor — Providing the necessary compressed air for the cleaner's operation
  • Cleaned Air Filter — The item undergoing deep cleaning
  • Dust Mask — Protecting the respiratory system from fine airborne dust particles
  • Pete Filter Cleaner — The primary device for deep cleaning the air filter
  • Safety Glasses or Face Shield — Protecting eyes and face from expelled dust and debris
  • Sturdy Bucket or Stable Support — To stably hold the air filter during cleaning
  • Compressed Air N/A — Powering the filter cleaner
