Black to brass, white to bright, and green to ground. Let's get after it. First things first, turn off the correct breaker. Showing no voltage. Go ahead and strip your wire. Once you got the jacket off, go ahead and pull the paper off. Right on the back of the outlet, there's a strip gauge. Go ahead and hold that up to your wire, and that'll tell you how much wire you have to strip off of here. Get your wire cutter, strip it. Repeat that process for the black one. Once you have your wires stripped, now you're going to J-hook them. For your white one, I like to bring it towards me. For your black one, I'm going to bring it away from me. For your ground, I'm going to bring it away from me. When you look at your outlet, you're going to have a brass side and a silver side. This brass goes to your black, the silver goes to your white, and the ground goes to your green. I'm going to hook up my ground first, so I'm going to put my J-hook over my ground. I'm going to get a nice tight connection. It's important that you loop the wire in the direction that the screw goes. So, when I screw this down, it tightens the wire. Next, I'm going to do my neutral, and that's going to go to my silver. I'm going to tighten this screw. Finally, I'm going to do my hot wire. My hot wire goes to my brass. Once you got that looped, tighten it down. Neatly put your wires in your box. Screw these two into your box. Next, put your outlet cover on. Re-energize your breaker. Put a tester on it. Our tester is glowing green. We can see that the outlet is correct. Anyways, I'm going to work on the garage today. I'll catch you guys later. Peace.
