How to clean a paint brush

How to get your paintbrush from this to this. Let's get after it. Start off by wiping your brush off. Set your water temperature to lukewarm. Take a brass brush and your paintbrush and just scrub your ferrule. Be very gentle. You don't want to ruin any of your bristles. Lightly fan it out till I'm getting clear water. Take a little bit of dish soap. Put it on our brush and massage it on our bristles. Take your brass brush and just work it on your bristles. Take your brush comb and work all that soap inside of there. After you use your brush comb and your brass brush, just go ahead and rinse your paintbrush. Get all the soap out of there. Couple way to dry your paintbrush. You can go like this outside or put in your hands like this. Just twirl it real good. Once you got it kind of dried out, take your brush comb and just kind of straighten your bristles. You always want to hang your brush or lay it flat to dry. After your brush is completely dry, put your brush back in the sheath. It'll help your bristles keep their shape and be ready for your next project. That's how you clean your brush when it comes to water-based paint. When it comes to oil-based paint, you're going to need mineral spirits or whatever the manufacturer of your paint suggests that you use. Just go ahead and dump a little bit in a cup, soak your brush, scrape off all the paint, and then do your water and soap. Take care of your tools and they'll take care of you.
