What happens here
This video demonstrates an efficient and clean method for coiling and managing an extension cord using a chain knot technique, often referred to as a 'daisy chain', as an alternative to traditional cable ties. This method prevents tangles, keeps the cord clean, saves space, and allows for easy partial uncoiling without disrupting the entire coil.

I mean like really look at this thing filthy just crazy dirty really get your shirt all dirty and nobody wants that hey folks that fix it guy here and today I'm going to show you how to roll up your extension cord super easy super simple it's going to save some space it's going to save you time and it's really going to help you out so come along let's get to fix it so traditionally somebody's probably showed you rolling up your extension cord like this is easy it's quick but if your extension cord is laying in the mud or it's dirty well then you're going to end up dirty right and this is a pretty dirty extension cord and so does it roll up quick simple yes is there a velcro strap to put it together yes but it kind of hurts your wrist too doing that so let's do something a little bit different if you take this from this position and you try to just throw it out there well look what we got now we've got this jumbled mess laying in the yard that we got to try to go over here find the end and then unwind and it gets just all tangled up like look at that just all jumbled so I want to show you another way to do this in a couple steps first thing you want to do is you want to grab your extension cord and just get it all straightened out so now we're just bringing the other end right back to us so we end up with two ends right here take one put it in the other now you've got these two ends together for camera purposes I'm going to just move this I'm going to swap side if you folks like this kind of DIY tip please consider subscribing to the channel click that like button we really want you to keep coming back we hope that we can help and if we do drop us some comments let us know okay so now we've got that completely turned around what we're going to do is this is the halfway point you want to grab and half about eight inches six to eight inches right here and you just want to take this flip it down and you're going to make a loop out of that you're just going to bring the extension cord through that loop and you want something I don't know I say like cantaloupe size right like not quite as big as my head but cantaloupe size and then you just take the extension cord that you have you take the rest of the extension cord and put it through there and you make another loop about the same size and then you grab the extension cord sorry I have to keep scooting back a little bit to show you how this is working and then you grab the extension cord and put it through and you make another loop and you just keep doing that over and over until you get to the end and you can see this is much easier if your cord was muddy this would be much easier to try to wrap it around your arm and get in your cell fall muddy and so you just keep doing that and it just keeps going and then the end the last one so you have a loop and you have this you just stick the end through it and that kind of just seals it off and now it's not coming apart right so now you just have this chain right here it's not coming apart you're able to hang this up this way you can fold it flat this way I mean there's just many things you can fold it up this way and when you pull it out it's not going to be a big deal it looks like a jumbled mess but it always unrolls good right so it's really nice that way and then when you need to take some apart well that's really easy too say we just need six foot of extension cord well here's the bottom right we'll just get that out of the way here's the bottom you just pop this out right here just take it out two rings it just comes out super easy and then bam all of a sudden you've got six foot no problem when you're done just simply plug this back together find your last loop and boom just make your loops again really easy and then the last loop just make that little knot thing ain't going anywhere you're hooked up man it's that simple all right I promise it's that easy practice a couple times you might not get it the first time it doesn't matter I don't think I got it the first time it took me a couple times right but in the end it worked out I really hope this video helps if you could please subscribe to the channel click the like button we would really appreciate it thank you so very much for watching we're just trying to do good stuff here at that Fixit Guide channel and we hope to see again real soon
