HOW TO STAIN A WOOD FENCE | Step-by-Step Instructions to Paint or Stain Like a Pro
What happens here
When spraying near the bottom of the fence, especially over grass or dirt, avoid concerns about overspray by letting the excess fall onto the ground. If working over rocks or areas where overspray is undesirable, use a cardboard shield holder with a cardboard shield. This adjustable tool effectively blocks overspray from reaching unwanted surfaces, including going through fence pickets to the other side. This is particularly useful when staining around houses or sheds where you want to avoid stain. If spraying at an angle, it will minimize the amount of overspray going through the pickets.
Goal: Prevent overspray on undesirable surfaces.
