How to Service (oil change) Honda Pioneer 1000 | Easy, Simple and Thorough

What happens here

Once the oil has finished draining, lower the UTV slightly to a height that allows comfortable access to the oil filter caps on the driver's side of the engine. Use a 10mm socket to loosen all three bolts on the engine oil filter cap (labeled 'ENG'). Carefully loosen the bolts, then gently pry the cover off, being mindful of a spring behind it. Catch the spring as it may pop out. Inspect the rubber gasket on the cover for damage and replace it if necessary. Use needle-nose pliers to pull out the old engine oil filter. Compare the old filter with the new one to ensure they are identical. Insert the new engine oil filter, ensuring the side labeled 'TOWARDS COVER' or similar is facing outward. Slide the spring back into the cover, then reattach the cover and tighten the 10mm bolts. Repeat the process for the DCT oil filter cap (labeled 'DCT'), using a 10mm socket to remove the cover, extract the old filter with pliers, insert the new DCT filter with the correct orientation (writing towards you or 'OUTSIDE' label facing outward), reinsert the spring, and reattach the cover, tightening the bolts.

Goal: Remove and replace the old engine and DCT oil filters, making sure to properly orient the new filters and check gaskets.
