How to Service a Dodge Ram 5.9 Cummins! Detailed..no nonsense tips and tricks.

What happens here

With the dipstick tube moved, use the 1/2 inch drive ratchet with the 29mm socket to loosen the fuel filter canister. Once loose, remove the canister by hand, allowing any residual fuel to drain. As you lift the canister, it will pop loose from its seated position. Be gentle and allow the fuel to drain slowly to minimize spillage. The old filter element will be attached to the cap, which can then be separated and discarded.

Goal: Extract the old fuel filter from the engine.
