(7,034 characters)so we're checking out this drain line today we're actually going to replace all this brass drain line and we're going to put in plastic today we're going to make this this trap is starting to leak and corrode and super back pitch so we're going to get all this out of here to redo this and Brass pipings about 100 plus dollars redo it in plastic about stuffart it's better to go ahead and just replace everything now get up in here remove this dishwasher drain got this awesome rigid ratcheting cutter right here this thing is pretty slick it's going to be good for cutting this hose it's going to be good for cutting our pipe today pop this nut right here and now we're just going to be able to take this whole assembly out next we're going to get up here and we're going to move these basket strainers one maybe easier than the other get this the rest of the way off grab some big dogs and just kind of give us a little push [Music] up you get you see all that stuff falling do yourself a favor have some glasses you know it's funny they put plumber's putty on the top and looks like silicone on the bottom he put the paper washer on the top as well thinking that was going to seal it is helping me hold the backup I'm getting back down underneath the sink right here no go huh yeah this doesn't want to come off okay we got something for that fine tool metal carbide blade let's go broken get that pulled off and now that just pops right out this one is going to be no problem to clean up this one over here is actually the gasket and some caulk but it looks like it's going to come out pretty easy at least on the top glad it's not silicone it actually does just look like caulk so those are all cleaned up on the bottom and on the top we shopped at Lowe's today and we got these deep sink cup basket strainers P trap I got on sale a little while back which was awesome I got a plastic combo piece that actually comes with the dishwasher setup we're going to have to reduce down right here but I got something for that too so it'll be good stay put plumers putty we've got our basket strainers pulled apart here this is the way the way these come assembled this is the way that you put these on this doesn't go on your sink this actually helps this slide right here so it'll tighten that's all this is this is a paper friction ring this rubber washer does the ceiling get these boys let's get those things lined up get those holes lined up gasket paper gasket and here so so then we can just tighten this up I've got rich holding up top with a backup okay all right pipe doe likes to ooze so we're going to give that a little bit of time and then we're just going to tighten this up a couple more times so we're just going to start down here at the Trap arm we'll use the old black nut but we're going to put a new washer all right so now we got a PE trp on here now this is going to go in here like so just go ahead and put our washers on I love these rubber washers these days these things are pretty slick this freaking hard plastic washers this is just like Lincoln Logs back in the day right just get it all set up I don't like that they put any of these mold pieces anywhere where you can snag them up or it's not going to seal so I usually shave those off you be like oh man I got a leak and it turns out that's why you have a leak it's pretty bad so I got a double-ended tail piece section right here this is another one of those pieces right here that I don't like scrape that plastic or cut it off just get it smooth you want things to seal you want to get up in here and measure you you grabit tape measure or just eyeball it I like to always turn a little bit that way this doesn't break this brass washer over the top let's stick this bad boy right here with one of these right here and get that pushed in place with this style of hard plastic washer right here grab the mega lock just a little bit now before we tighten this tail piece nut up we're going to tighten up these basket strainers again got about another half turn on that oh yeah there we go so now we got this right here get a good Mark with our thumb we got to give this pipe a little bit of slope right here also do yourself a favor if you notice a little bur on the inside of this well just use your pencil reamer use a reamer real quick get that edge off of there you don't want anything getting caught trying to avoid as many problems as we can right that's all that we want to do so yeah now everything is just going to go to hand tight at first get it all dialed in go a little extra snug on these bad boys right here sad part here is our dishwasher does not have enough hose for a high Loop and it does not have an air gap this dishwasher is actually shut off we are going to put the drain line back on for future use but as you can see not been used in a while you can see this hose is a little bit small I had this bad boy in my garage this actually upsizes it for you this is a piece that incinerator makes it is a dishwasher connector kit if you have a smaller hose and you're trying to go to a bigger Outlet well this is going to work for you and I like to put a stiffener in here so just a little piece little stub piece of copper you just want to ream this just smooth boore you don't want anything getting caught up in here there's a little bit of junk in here let's get that out of there this is going to have to be cut a little bit I like to put this piece right here over the hose we're going to chop off right here you're just going to pop inside of that I like to go flush you see it right there and then this bad boy on top of that about halfway give that a good connector on there and I know what some people are going to say is oh you could take that connection apart right there this hose is short I don't want to make it even shorter okay that's on there good so we've got a good ooze here grab a flathead you want to empty one rich let's start over here and cooking oh yeah that looks good go ahead you can drop the other one too listen to that motor hum let's go both at the same time see what we got down here I don't see anything leaking when it comes to hooking up your own drain lines and doing work like this you guys really watch a video like see how a plumber is actually going to Plum this and get it hooked up because I'll tell you I see a lot of jacked up stuff online and there doesn't have to be this is super easy you don't have to go buy a Snappy trap yes you're going to spend a few more dollars on this set up than a Snappy trap but the reality is I mean with two new basket strainers you know a little bit of piping and a couple of hours okay you can get this all hooked up done right and have no issues you guys have a problem hit me up over on Facebook man I'm always happy to chat send me some pictures and I'll give you some kind of solution I have no problem doing that actually I just really enjoy helping people hope this video has helped somebody thank you very much and we'll see you again real soon
