How To Prep & Paint Stucco. Painting Stucco With A Paint Sprayer.

K Painting. This is part one of how to prep and paint stucco on an exterior of a home. This house that we're going to be videoing has stuckco on the front, siding in the back, and the sophets all around are wood sophets. And the stucco where the stucco meets the sophet. It typically cracks wherever wood meets the stucco. And so we actually that seam all the way around the house where the stucco meets the sophet. That way you don't see that crack anymore. and it looks nice and finished once it's painted. We also the the door jambs wherever the door jamb meets the stucco, which gives a nice finished look and you won't have a crack there no more. And we make a nice smooth bead of cocking. That way when we cut in our door jamb, you can have a nice perfectly straight line. We go around the vents. Any type of trim batting, we actually all that all the way around the house. Eventually, we're going to get to the side of the house where there's no more stucco, but we got a wood door jam that we've sanded the knot areas and put peel bond on them. The white is the peel bond. We've got down here an area of the stucco that was peeling. The color coat was coming off, so we wire brushed it. Um, and then put a coat of Sherastic, which is an elastame coating over that to help glue and seal it back up. Anywhere where we got cracks in the stucco, we put cocking in the cracks and we smear it around and try to blend it in and feather it in so you don't um see that crack anymore. But you don't want it to be really smooth. So you see a smooth line when it's painted. You want it to blend into the stucco. So you want to work it down into the stucco, just into the crack. We continue around. Do the sophets. And the stucco is going to be painted with Sher Williams flat super paint. And the sophets and the siding will be painted with Sher Williams super paint satin. So the stucco stops right here. We've got a seam here and we've cocked that seam where it stops and then the rest of the house continues with sighting. Chris from BNK Painting part one, how to paint Painting. In this video, we're going to show you how to paint and back roll stucco. And in this task, we've got um Eric over here. We got to have a nap and we use a 3/8 inch nap to actually back roll the stuckle on this style of stuckco. It's not um very deep and very porous. We're using a 515 rackex tip to spray the stucco with the um twoft extension wand. We've got a cardboard shield and cardboard shield holder there that we're using too. We've already gone through the prep process in part one on the on um cocking and getting the stuckco ready. And right here we got some stuckco. We're going to show you. We start off and we got a clean nap. We start off by loading up the map, getting it really wet with paint. So, I just spray the nap really wet. And now Eric's got a nap that's really wet with um paint. So, I'm going to start spraying the Stuckco. And Eric's going to be back rolling when I'm spraying the Stuckco. So, I'm going to try to load on more paint than I typically would on the siding of the house because the nap itself needs to be able to have paint to back roll into the floor. The person back rolling wants to stay pretty close to the sprayer cuz the paint on Stuckco dries extremely fast and he needs to have paint to actually back roll to push into the floor. So, keeping up with me spraying. And then we got footing to do too here. The cardboard seal. Little more difficult to do with one arm. Only got one arm cuz I crashed on a bic last week. Broke my scapula. So, and the one arm cleaner now. We've got the sophets, too. And the sophets we also spray on this house. You have the options of spraying the sophets with satin or flat. We're using super paint flat on this house by Sher Williams. And we're also spraying the sopets in the same flat. I don't need to shield the gutters off cuz we're painting the gutters. to get a little overspray on the gunners. And I don't have to worry about any specific pattern spraying because the person back rolling is going to even out the paint by back rolling it with a nap. We always use an old nap. That's a throwaway nap because the stuckco destroys the nap. So, we keep old naps just for this purpose. And a 38 or larger nap is good for back growing stuckco. And um we're using Sher Williams exterior flat super paint on the stucco on the back side of this house and siding. And then we'll be using satin on the back side of the house. Chris from BNK vending.
