simple easy to do doesn't cost you anything then you just get notified by email every time we come up with a new video sound here we go first question so it's a good question so I'll go back to my early days and and we didn't power wash when I first started doing houses and stuff we soft washed with just a hose and I always had the excuses we don't want to damage the house and stuff and and I had some other excuses about really when it's time again but what really came down to is they couldn't afford a power washer and so you know eventually I got a power washer and I started power washing and what I realized is the difference between a hose and a power washer a power washer and to me I use a rotating nozzle it really agitated dirt and it really helps remove contaminants from the house and you just can't get that from soft washing now I'm using a power washer you can you can damage the house you can do bad things get payments or get water inside windows through doors and stuff like that that could damage window sills and flooring but once you learn how to properly power wash it's not going to be an issue do you have any videos teaching people how to power wash so yeah I have multiple videos on power washing and using that rotating nozzle it's a 5000 psi rotating nozzle that just it just agitates the dirt on the surface and really cleans it well so do you use a power washer this short answer would have been yes and then the next one the next one was cleaning solutions do any cleaning solutions on houses so I don't use any cleaning solutions my fear was always I know a lot of them say environmentally safe and stuff like that but a lot of customers are uncomfortable with the chemicals and stuff like that just don't want to put any chemicals in the ground just got a lot of fear with them you know damaging plants killing plants harming grass and stuff like that I used to use chemicals on fences and stuff like just kind of away from it I thought over the years just water use properly cleaned properly so why antifreeze because you don't want it to breathe it's a Gibbs freezing then that is zooks antifreeze it's that's exactly right isolate or freeze but it's a here's and what is he even talking about what he's talking about is the react pump sitting down here at espares putting antifreeze in your airless sprayer xenon in wintertime if they freeze one of the things you'll ruin the very first is a transducer so if your transducer is bad after the wintertime your pop probably froze put antifreeze in it and especially if you're working during the winter because we would have a minute we would drive to a location to paint it's like 10 degrees 20 degrees outside this rain would literally freeze by the time we got to the location and we couldn't even spray interiors until it saw out so antifreeze even if you are storing them in the location but I have an article I wrote go check it out it's on my website and it's about you know why I use antifreeze versus like pump armor and some of those other products out there that are really expensive I just think you need to look at your pumps and and know that they are antifreeze they don't like freezing I use antifreeze specifically because it's significantly cheaper than pump armor significantly in antifreeze in Palm Harbor if you read my articles the same thing Tory Stansberry ass like a video on that so my I did one just recently up caulking and the home method about coffee near tape and stuff so and it goes into depth and in detail so and he's probably talked about like you've got to run your mouth scheme then say you're going to be painting your surface but you've got to do two coats and we always paint you know our surface stay away from the caulking you know like about a sixteenth of an inch and that's our first coat and then our second coat we go cockpit tape and this is only where the caulking is necessary and like a window sill that would be kind of like the case so can you paint huffing you sure can and so we've been doing it for at least 15 years with fabulous results it's you never had an issue you never been a problem but get down close to your tape you've that first close gonna dried then you copped your tape put your second coat on pull your tape before your coffee and your paint dries or you will have a issue with bridging itself there you go wow I'm so he's doing a deck so III just transitioned over the years away from all these products of all active base products because of you know smell odors ppm liability EPA regulations cleanup is just difficult explosion hazardous fire hazards we were doing it that once I'll tell this story really quick we were doing exact we set up on all of our rags and stuff you know hit a bucket how to brushes hanging in the bucket with off the bunch the bucket was sitting next to the deck and and we came back and the bucket was melted the fire was gone but spontaneous combustion caught on fire bucket burned burned on the grass around the deck luckily it didn't burn the jacket just killed the grass so that's a real thing it happened so with us and almost no in the technology and water-based coatings especially deck coatings I find the water-based coatings to be superior when it comes to fade resistance and adhesion so versus oil-based products and you can recoat over water-based products a lot easier than you can royal based products and and you can you can take and recount water-based over the top of oil that's the technology these days Pauline earthen eyes death coatings and we specifically have a lot of luck with superdad so gary column mast flat and matte finish for good high living areas for good hide yeah yes so I would sit like the so flat or math and so matte so fat paint is the very beginning it's flat then you go up to like semi glosses and glasses and satins all this as a question this flat plate has it improved because remember one time we painted and you touch it and you see the mark forever has it improved so you the same yeah flat paints have improved over the years there's a black paint set you could actually take out a sharpie marker and draw on it and it will actually come up and so there's flat paints that's not matter you can wash them no they're definitely scrubber they're like $70 ago okay but yeah Matt is just a step above flat and so it has a slight sheen to it and so when it comes to like hiding in so hiding imperfections and stuff like that if you have a lot of imperfections in your walls or ceilings the flatter the paint the better it hides those imperfections the shinier the paint the more it brings them out and highlights them so if you're trying to hide stuff you know the flatter you go the better now flat paint shows true color better but in general it's less washable less durable unless you buy specifically those high-end so like here's the thing on a hallway if you got a flat pane if a child touches the wall and you touch the wall oils on your hand is going to show up as a shiny spot on the wall which if it was a satin which we use on our interior repaints 95% probably 98% of our he paints our gun was satin and if anybody touches the walls your oils are the same machine as a satin and you never see any of that and just satin paints are just easier more cleanable and more durable in a flat or a Mac in the same grade like a mid grade paint so I mean that's a good question to have is like what what's your goal you know what is the conditions of your walls you know because if the narrow rough condition you would maybe choose one or the other but if you have high traffic the others would you do the same so that's another good question now we're getting back to oil based products I don't know why anybody would paint their trim with all these products now and now you have trim products there's far superior to all base products in a vault yellow oil these products will yellow over time which is discoloring and so you're not gonna be able to touch them up you know after several years and they suck and yellows very quickly so when it comes to adhesion there's products out there that are just as good as oil based products products that spray low and level when you're spraying just as good as always if you're brushing your trim you know oil-based still has that ability to level and flow out really well but but he's spraying so he's getting the overspray onto the walls yes that will be an issue you get the over span of walls and how you're putting the latex over the top and we'll base well the paint out sometimes um you could if you're you really would need to go scuff that up or a prime over it or to me if you really wanted to go that route you need to mask your walls off spray your trim but I highly recommend you know you should go a mess using water-based coatings you know for your trim day then no really nobody really uses they're really hard to find if you in the u.s. they're really hard to buy so um if you sprayed like emerald urethane on your trim and it got on the wall and you're gonna paint with nobody no no issue so mr. primont you don't have to issue no issue with latex paints get on your walls going back over the top of them with latex I suggest reinvesting your water-based finish before you semi-transparent color another really great question so this is one of the reasons why I like solid color stains you don't have to completely strip your back a semi-transparent if you go over the top of this semi transparent semi-transparent you know eventually you're gonna have like a semi solid and they eventually as solid if you want it to have that semi-transparent look you're gonna have to sand or strip your deck all the way down what happens shaded portion of those portions of the deck wear out less quick than sun portions of the deck which now will absorb your semi-transparent stain the other ones and just sit on top and it begins to look uneven if you want your deck to look good I'm using semi-transparent so you gotta strip it very labour-intensive takes a lot of time it looks better than a solid color stain but you choose the right solid color stain you know they look amazing is there any sanding systems you'd recommend like I mean obviously you can do elbow yeah we remember wood sand by hand we always use power Sanders so I have a neck 'san Unni Decca Santa got multiply gotta got a 5 inch 6 inch and a 3 byte or sand or and I use their braces which are called Mecca silk so you know you definitely want to get like an if you only have one sander get like a five-inch orbital you know sand or I'll leave a link to who need his website in the video description or I get my vacuums and Sanders and abrasives from Manny's spectrum ass or rather States you're doing an awesome job Chris love to watch all of your videos that's nice so for all the way from the Netherlands so a lot of people may not even know we have a worldwide audience not just the United States do you know where we shipped package to today we're due south korea south korea so we got south korea we and we do get questions like maybe every day we have one person ask do you ship here you ship there are there any limitations to our storage disk and a hat to a follower in iran and it got sent back to me because the government wouldn't allow me to so I was sorry about that but but we shipped but they couldn't get it so we don't ship time and unfortunately we don't see guy random will have to say what about you guys to receive us up but we've we've been to the Netherlands too we've been no we haven't been to the other ones but we had your London Holland yes Netherlands in the holidays yes we haven't been there but we were invited to go to a wedding of an exchange student that we had in October so hopefully everything will be back to normal we'll be able to attend happy wedding day coming up or maybe if you watch this video it's already past they've done Mars so thank you for the I'm glad he's pronouncing the names because I agree well I would be betraying them you would sure Ricky Walker has this is very important party back party it's uh it's called like concrete sides very hearty you don't want to use any coffee this is very very important I have hi you don't want to use just any coffee okay you want to use the right talking I highly recommend the big stretch big stretch is one of the comments yeah that is bonds better than anything else has the capability to stretch more than any other coffee but I I personally so where would you fight it's not found just anywhere by our local paint stores don't have it I think when I got it it was at Franklin lumber supply okay it's very expensive but if you're using hardiplank I believe hardiplank even recommends that you use big stretch you know when you're doing a - a ladies night so although all the contractors out there that install hardiplank they actually that I know they all use big stretch so it's very important if you don't use the proper caulking you are gonna get cracking and separation after the first winter so or the second night yeah not good big stretch Mike really appreciate your video question of the ceiling so this just goes back to your your your confidence spraying you know I'm highly confident in my spraying abilities I think I've calculated John and I together have over 22,000 you know hours I'm having a spray gun in our hand it's a lot of spray and so I'm very confident of my spray abilities in controlling overspray I've never since day one spray and have I ever feared overspray I've never had an over spray claim filed against us but over sprays is something you have to just learn how to control it learn how to spray properly gun angles I'm never worried about the ceiling but in some of the videos you might see that we might be repainting the ceilings I'm I'm not sure what video we're talking about right now but gun angle proper tip size proper pressure all that goes into controlling the hose right if I'm not masking the ceiling I'm going to turn down my pressure have a brand new tip control on my own especially if I'm spraying in SRAM so I'm spraying a trim I'm only using it 3 10 it doesn't have a big of a fact of curling and give up on the ceiling by the time it actually up to the ceiling it's what we call flash drives and so it actually won't even be wet paint that got on the ceiling so I've never got overspray on a ceiling and you know from spraying right did it want it so so and if you did get it on there you know you're painting the ceiling and it's not an issue or if I did it was a mistake you know we would just read while the ceiling really facets it's very simple and quick Tallulah ceiling alright so we've only got time for one more question so we're running out of time you know we try to limit these things to about a half hour we're gonna do another questions and answers video with Lisa said right here so we're gonna do - Nick if you want to see part two to this one hey stay tuned you know for the next questions and answers video and see if your questions and answers questions are answered so you can get a free gift certificate to our store so now here goes our final you know question for the minute sharing the grass you let the dog yeah every now and then you know we allow a little bit of our you personal life to show up in a video so today the dog is on peanut is yeah in this spotlight peanut you know you want to say hi there she would walk today say that be that nosey on so this is peanut so today she's guest in the video today so that was that was our last statement or question for the day we're gonna get going but she still gets a gift certificate to our store how much does a gift certificate $15 $15 so that can get you $15 $15 I hope you guys enjoyed the video um if you've enjoyed Lisa being on the video giver I don't need to be doing this right now yes if you give me a lot of thumb downs then that means that you won't call me out here anymore and come on just be strong hit the little box up button giver show so where are you don't I'm okay I'm okay in myself but I'm not on camera so leave a comment question down below if you have any questions about these questions and answers that we just did hit the subscribe button hit the notification valve
