Spread and Level Screed Base

What happens here

After laying the initial pavers, spread a layer of fine crushed stone (screed base) over the compacted aggregate. Place screed pipes or aluminum channels as guides. Use a shovel to distribute the screed material and then pull a leveling rake or straightedge across the pipes to create a perfectly uniform and precise depth for the paver bedding layer. Remove the screed pipes as you proceed.

Goal: Distribute and precisely level the screed base over the compacted sub-base.
