HOW TO FIX A PAINT RUN. Painting hacks repairing drips & runs. Fixing paint sags.

What happens here

The video introduces the common problem of paint runs occurring during spray painting of trim or woodwork, particularly with latex paint. The presenter emphasizes that the best approach is to allow the paint run to fully dry before attempting any correction. Trying to brush out or deal with wet paint runs can often worsen the problem by creating brush strokes or causing the paint to coagulate unevenly. The overall process will involve wet sanding the dried run, potentially using Bondo glazing putty for deeper imperfections, and then re-spraying the affected surface.

Chris the Idaho painter. In this video, we're going to show you how we deal about a run that you get when you're actually spraying on trim. And if you're spraying trim any or woodwork and you get a run with latex paint, we're going to show you how you deal with that. And we got a run on a column in here we're going to be dealing with and we're going to be wet sanding it. And to get the run out and then we're going to be respraying the column. So, if you get a run and you see or see a run starting, the best thing to do is just let it dry and then wet sand it and bondo and glaze. use Bondo and glazing putty to help get rid of it and then re-shoot the surface. Trying to brush the run out or deal with it while it's wet could actually make it a lot worse because it begins to dry and coagulate really fast and it'll leave brush strokes all over it. So, the best thing to do in dealing with the run, let that run dry and then begin to wet sand the run and respray it. So, we're going to show you that process using a 3M sanding sponge with some water. We're going to wet sand it and use Bondo glazing putty if we need to.
