How to fix a bare spot in your yard
What happens here
Once the seed and straw are down, you can optionally apply a triple fertilizer (such as 10-10-10, 15-15-15, or 17-17-17) to boost growth. The presenter, confident in his soil quality, opts to skip this step for his good soil area. Crucially, if rain is not expected soon, immediately water the seeded area thoroughly. This will help settle the straw, prevent it from blowing away, and provide essential moisture for seed germination. The newly seeded area should be left to grow until the grass reaches about 8 inches in height before its first mowing.
Goal: Provide nutrients and moisture for new grass growth.
