Wash and Inspect Tomatoes

What happens here

Wash the Roma tomatoes thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt or debris. It's crucial that the tomatoes are absolutely red ripe, almost to the point of being squishy, but not rotten. Discard any tomatoes with rotten spots, or feed them to chickens if you have them, as rotten parts will affect the quality of the canned product.

Goal: Prepare tomatoes for blanching by washing and inspecting their ripeness.
