What happens here

A layer of geotextile filter fabric is laid along the bottom and extended up the sides of the compacted trench. This "filter fabric" (also known as landscape fabric or separation fabric) acts as a crucial separator. Its primary function is to prevent the foundation stone (which will be installed next) from mixing with the native soil. While allowing water to freely pass through, it effectively retains soil particles, maintaining the integrity of the drainage layer and preventing it from becoming clogged by migrating soil.

Goal: Separate drainage stone from native soil for effective water management
