look at the massive signs of this is the world's largest rotary thermal Fork [Applause] because this is Josh County Ridge farmer and I'm with Stanley the dirt monkey and today we're gonna have some fun testing trailers here at flow trailers in Minnesota it's going to be awesome so come along guys we're also going to look at some docks we're out here really curious about docks for the pond on the Stony Ridge Farm and we're gonna crash a trailer right yes we are well we're gonna try to crush the trailer sometimes what we try to do doesn't always work so we're going to find out how well she'll hold up let's go meet Don next Don how you doing buddy good to see you again as always as always so is that what we're going to be driving over the trailer that's the same one we used last time yeah all right I want to introduce you to a friend yeah cool so come on over Josh I want to introduce you to don don this is Josh the Stony Ridge the Stony Ridge farmer so he just it's kind of like my channel but uh you know he's got a little bit of a different good to see you again is going to be a good day so this is what we're going to be doing guys we're gonna be taking this and running it over with this so it's gonna be a pretty fun day went down back there yeah I've got some let's let's go back by that stack of trailers and just do it right now I'm convinced this is the toughest trailer in the world but I'm not just gonna tell you that I'm going to show you what made me think that in the first place we're going to separate the body from the trailer and then we're going to drive a 22 000 pound forklift over the top of it and through it and then we're gonna go inside of the factory and show you how they build this trailer because they have a machine that no one else in the entire world has but let's stop talking and start showing so this is the bed for the flow cargo Max trailer [Applause] I wonder what this looks like so as the bed for the trailer you can see some of them in the background over there pre-assembled and this this all came about one day when one of the flow cargo Max Trailers was totaled out by a tree in one of their customers thank you everybody [Music] hold that for a minute left for a minute double fisting yeah [Music] this is what we just crushed so all right I mean you guys can just see how robust it is it's a UV tolerance uh polymer plastic is that right what kind of talking yeah that's a virgin polyethylene polymer oh yeah we're just polyethylene this is this I'm done done the cargo Max about 15 years ago one of the biggest questions was always because people they look at it they take a plastic spray well it's kind of good but yeah so there was all kinds of durability questions people would say it probably won't survive I don't think so we started doing all kinds of durability kind of abusive destruction tests yeah and that's always what we've pretty much you know got past people's concerns well stay inside a while back and he wanted to take that test too a whole nother left yeah and I would think everything has a Breaking Point right so when you did when you said that I was like all right we can try it yeah I mean I think it's 20 some thousand pounds yeah yeah so I thought well we probably will find the breaking point yeah so we did did that before now we just did it again and you know that polymer is just is so durable bounces right back huh can you imagine running over a metal trailer can you tell Josh and his channel the story about the tree falling on that trailer real quick maybe in like a minute or less yeah so that was a customer back uh probably 15 years ago bought our original cargo Max at a tornado come through their Farm in Wisconsin gotcha it was a big big Popple tree fell across that kind of kitty corner smashed the corner right flat right and so the adjuster said yeah it's obviously totaled and they had a lot of damage they were cleaning up they chainsawed the Tria and went in and she said they put it behind the barn if I remember right when I came on a deer to the later in the corner The Whole Trailer was back and she thought somebody replaced and it just popped right back to where it was because of the memory of that polyethylene it wants to go back to the set it took in the mold nice nice is there any chance we could just pop in and check out because you guys got the world's largest forming machine that we could show these uh Josh's uh audience that forming machine because that's pretty cool yeah I don't think it's running today but we can go take a look at it in our other thermal forming machine that does the fenders I believe is running today cool and this has an aluminum frame just yeah you just want to make sure we're clear on that all aluminum frame polymer bed there's really no trailer like it it's very unique that's the ramp no jiggling because this is a popular option where people want the side loading ramp on the front obviously it's got a back loading ramp but when we were looking at all the other ones on the market they're really loud and clangy and they're almost embarrassing to drive around so if we have to solve this we use these quick little expansion yeah kind of like a boat plug like a boat plug yeah those go in like we have a similar problem to the competition right if you get two of them rattling at the same time so these just hold your eyes and there's one on the other side so now we can put a ATV on the side end up the back ultimate Light trailer super Light trailer good for half ton of trucks cool too I'm assuming oh yeah another just small thing that people don't always think of the side steps yeah a lot of these utility trailers don't have them no they just have a little angled piece of gusset right there when you're doing side by sides which is kind of the thing everyone's doing nowadays that's for your load and unloaded you want to go right off the side and it seems so simple on like a no-brainer but it's amazing how most of them don't have it so this is how it gets shipped to the dealer Don [Music] so your axles the body is actually attached to the framework and then you stack them up 500 I always have a little bit of assembly putting axles on it's pretty easy and of course real yep and then with this done is here we built we can go five highly load you know for semi and shipment how many people does flow and fly 182 182. right here on our weekly sports hurting I saw it yesterday is that right here in Minnesota then or is that across we have three facilities in Minnesota that we make the fenders on for the cargo match and you can see that they're they're doing the finals [Music] okay low actually has the largest thermal forming machine in the world the baby version is right there behind them now the other one is a lot bigger than that I need behind us is the world's largest thermal formula sorry to barge in on you thank you so this is the largest in the world Don yeah so like I was saying to Josh that's a big thermal forming machine yeah considered big yep look at it the massive size of this one this is the world's largest rotary thermal Fork and this is where the cargo Max bodies are made you can see the sheets right here that's what it starts over there those plungers come down and pick it up [Music] I wish it was running right now oh yeah can we go in there Don we'll just go right around here so after the Park's in when this thing's running there's three things happening at the pavement loading unloading then there's always one in the oven which is this big heart rate in here my oven has 2080 14 inch heated ceramic elements that heat the plastic up and it's all computer controlled you can put heat where you want to here you can see into the oven so that's the oven [Music] good rest when it comes out of the oven it's drooping about four or five feet that's how hot is it so then it comes into this mold these plungers come down and the cooling shut down starts to cool the thing down as soon as the park goes in there so they can take a set and then this is also club for air so it hits vacuum you can see all the air storage the vacuum here so that's all those ridges get pulled in tight if you want to manufacturers right yep but we're we're alone in this one because the size of the investment gets into the many many millions of dollars and I'm not seeing somebody won't do it but just for this part of it oh yeah just for this one component after the entire and each one is molds there's one for every size trailer it's extremely I was just gonna ask him like well not once can't be one size fits all so there's a mold there smaller mold so bigger mold so you forklift these so you forklift these switch them around that way though yeah you can see that they come out of there okay okay huh well that's interesting so building an indestructible bat doesn't do a whole lot of good if the framework underneath it falls apart on you but they can't build the frame for the trailer out of the same material that they build the bed out of the trailer so they use the next best thing to build the framework and that's aluminum so every component on a flow trailer underneath it is built out of the highest quality aluminum that they have available all right you guys well if you guys want more information I'm going to recommend you go over to Josh's Channel he's the Stoney Ridge farmer he's gonna he's gonna have a complete walk around on this right guy I think so yeah yeah yeah so go check go check out his channel you guys we're gonna continue this he's gonna keep recording I hope you guys enjoyed this ride that's what we got for you on this one God bless you guys go get them and we'll catch you uh on another one or or check out Josh's Channel
