How NOT to build a Patio!
What happens here
Workers use a skid steer to efficiently spread the recycled Class 5 material across the prepared area. They then meticulously use large straight edges, guided by the pre-laid steel screed pipes, to achieve the exact desired 1-inch drop per 8 feet of run. This ensures the patio will have the correct drainage and will not be perfectly flat. Once the Class 5 material is spread and leveled to the correct height and pitch, a plate compactor is used to firmly compact the entire sub-base, creating a dense and stable foundation for the paver tiles.
Goal: Create a compacted and precisely sloped sub-base.
