What happens here
With the form boards positioned, the next critical step is to securely fasten and level them. Drive wooden stakes (typically 1x2 or 2x2 lumber) into the ground just behind the form boards. Use wood screws or nails to attach the form boards firmly to these stakes. It is imperative that the forms are perfectly level both horizontally and vertically, and at the correct height, to ensure a flat and properly sloped concrete slab. Use a long spirit level or a laser level to check for proper elevation and make adjustments by driving stakes deeper or shimming as needed. The forms must be rigid enough to withstand the outward pressure of the wet concrete once it is poured.
Goal: Construct stable, level, and properly aligned forms for the concrete pour.
