We're going to look at a piece of equipment that I personally know a guy that built an empire around using. And I know that's a very big bold claim, but hear me out for a minute. Marley Danner and Danner Incorporated down in South Saint Paul, Minnesota. I used to work for him. Back in the days when I first got started, he would rip out all of the local streets. He would put bids in to remove the streets for the local towns and cities around there. He would load them into the trucks, take them down to his central pit in South Saint Paul, where he would then use this piece of equipment to turn the asphalt and the concrete into road base material. And we would, as truckers, we would drop it off on one side of the pile. And this machine would operate, and we would go around to the other side of the pile and load up the exact same material. I I when I first seen it, I couldn't believe what I was witnessing. He was getting paid to haul this out, and then he was getting paid to haul the same stuff back in. For real. But, the technology needed back then was financially overwhelming. The space you needed back then was a massive amount of space. So, he had everything dialed in to make this feasible. But, with modern technology now, we've been able to take that exact same technology and shrink it down and make it um more feasible for guys like you and I to be able to do this as well. So, today we're going to cover the numbers. We're going to look at the equipment. We're going to cover the numbers. We're going to look at how much money you can make, and just dive deep on this to see if it's right for you guys because there's a lot of money that can be made using this technology. So, let's Without wasting more time, let's dive right into this one. All right, Cody. This morning I was telling the guys about this contractor that I knew 30 years ago where he got paid to haul the material off from the job site, dump it in a spot, we would drive around the pile, and load up the exact same material, and he got paid to haul it back to the exact same spot. >> Yeah. >> Except the technology that he was using then was this massive multimillion-dollar machine, and he needed a ton of space, and you guys have brought this technology down to a point where the average contractor can do something like this. >> Right. Yeah, what if waste wasn't waste? What if waste was profit? What if we were just, you know, taking the waste we had on our sites and being able to turn that into profit? >> So, guys, this is Cody. Cody, what's the name of your company? >> Hey, Cody here. Komplet America. Komplet is an Italian manufacturer. They've been making machines in Italy for 26 years. >> And this is your bread and butter. This is your sweet spot machine right here, right, Cody? >> Right. Yeah, this is the KJC 704. This is our most popular jaw crusher. It's 26,455 lb. It has a 27-in by 16-in inlet opening. >> So, let's break this down and slow it down a little bit. What exactly does this machine do? >> This machine will crush concrete, asphalt, rock. It helps contractors recycle their material right on site. It's weighs enough or not so much that you can't pull it around and get it in and out of job sites. You can pull it behind a dump truck with a tagalong trailer. >> So, this is kind of like your sweet spot machine that you can either throw behind a dump truck on a trailer, just like an excavator or a dozer, bring it out to a site, use it right on site, or you could park it in your own yard and use it there because it's not so small that it's not going to get your production, but it's not so monstrous that it's not hard to haul around. >> Exactly. We have customers across the country doing both. We have people that either bring it right on site. We have people that will stockpile material from their jobs back at their yards, and then when things are slow, they'll have a guy back there crushing uh up the material, and then they either reuse it on their jobs or they resell it to other people. >> Okay, Cody. What does a unit like this one go for? What's the price point on something like this? >> price point for a KJC 704 Plus is roughly $241,000 MSRP. >> Okay. Now, before you get sticker shock, what is the return on investment? ROI. What are you hearing from guys out in the field that actually use this day-to-day? What are you hearing from them? >> So, the return on investment, we've had customers tell us that this machine will pay for itself within a year. >> Within a year? >> Yeah. Within a year. >> So, then after that, it's >> After that, it's all gravy. So, you're you're making you're making money, and your your your machine has paid for itself, and you're basically able to profit off the waste that you make. >> So, let's walk around this thing and look. This is This is So, you guys offer bigger ones. You offer smaller ones, but for the guy that's breaking into this industry, this is kind of like the unit that you're finding is got the best bang for the buck, the most impact, and is the most versatile for a contractor? >> We find this is the most popular unit out of all the units we sell because of the compactness that it still offers, but also the production it gives you. You're really able to have a little bit more production that our smaller units don't offer, but you still have the compactness that you can easily transport it, and they're very simply designed. They're made so they're user-friendly. You can set it up within 15 minutes, single operator, fully remote controlled, and uh it We try to make crushing accessible for all contractors. It's not a million-dollar piece of machinery that is super complicated. You need a specialist for. It's not like that. It's a simple machine that's designed for everyday users, everyday contractors on real real job sites. >> But how does it fold up? I mean, it cuz I I don't I don't see how this could fit on one of my trailers. >> great question. Right now, it's uh completely folded unfolded, it's 28 ft in length. When it folds up, this belt folds in two places, and basically folds on top of this bracket right here, and the length would be 18 ft at that point. >> Okay, so it folds up to 18 ft. It looks big, it looks intimidating, and it's an expensive piece of equipment. So, what about if a guy wanted information? What about Do you guys offer training? Do you offer that maybe to help them understand how to maintain it? >> Yes. >> A guy that's going to spend $240,000 is going to want to know this thing inside and out. So, what do you guys do to make sure that the contractor, when it gets into their hands, feels really comfortable about the process? >> Yeah, great question. We want to make sure our customers have peace of mind. When they choose Komplet, they know we have their back 100% of the way, especially it starts before sale, and it continues long after the sale. We look at all of our relationships like a family. Uh we want to be there for our customers. We treat them like that. And so, when it comes to training, we offer full training. We have a full service team, full parts department, a full warehouse with parts uh up to almost $2 million in parts in our warehouse in New Jersey. Uh we're always available for our customers. All of our machines come with QR codes that you can scan and get technical information right there, parts manuals, service manuals. We have uh videos that we put together for our customers that they can watch and just learn right there. And then, we're a call away at any time here any questions. >> You said parts availability, which brings me to the point of warranty. >> Yes. >> What can a guy expect? What is he going to get for a warranty on something like this? >> So, warranty on all of our units bumper-to-bumper is 1 year, 1,000 hours, whatever comes first. If you want more warranty, extended warranty, we do offer that as well. Um but the the warranty, the standard warranty covers bumper-to-bumper, and then our engines have 2-year warranty. >> Okay, so do you have This is like your sweet spot, but do you have an entry-level model, something that maybe can help guys that are smaller contractors that want to dip their toe in the water, so to speak? >> Definitely. We have a lot of customers that start off with our KJC503. That's our smallest jaw crusher, and that's 7,500 lb. So, you can pull that with a pickup truck. >> All right, let's look at that one next. All right, so this is the unit right here that we were just talking about. This is like your toe in the water unit. >> Yeah. >> Well, we like to say there's a tool for every job. >> So, you know, not everybody needs all that production, and and they don't have a truck that can move that, and they really need something that can get in and out of residential job sites, urban areas that are really, really compact, and uh they just need a little production. They have some material, some waste that they're getting from their jobs, and they either want to crush it right there on site. This is so easy to bring on site. It's got the rubber tracks, so it's not going to mess up any parking lots or driveways or sidewalks that you can bring it on. And you they can rip up the foundation, concrete foundation, and just recycle it right there on site. It's got a magnetic roller here that will help separate the rebar, so that's not an issue. And then uh they either recycle it, use it on site, or they don't have to pay to haul it away, and they can take it back to the yard and recycle it there. >> What kind of jobs would you do you see a contractor getting this for? What kind of actual work? >> Yes. Yeah, great question. So, we have contractors across the country using this. Hardscapers, masons, landscapers, uh demolition contractors that are doing pools. Uh we have uh anybody ripping up concrete foundations. We have basement waterproofing contractors using these. >> So, when I'm demoing a house, I can bring this unit on site. I can put the foundation into this unit, and now I've got the road base material so that I can lay that out. So, all of the contractors that follow me have the actual road base material they need to get into and out of the site. I've not hauled anything away. >> Correct. >> But, can this handle a poured foundation wall? Cuz some of these poured Some of the basements I have aren't CMU or concrete masonry units. They're actual poured foundation walls, and I got to break them up. Can this thing do that? >> Great question. Yes, it can do that. The key is breaking it down to the size you need. So, this inlet opening is 19 in by 12 in, so we tell customers they should break down the material roughly 10-in diameter. And this unit actually has a grid on it, this uh screen here that will help uh prevent putting too big of pieces in it and uh it will, you know, prevent that issue of uh having to jam it up. It also helps with wear on the belt. Since this is a hopper with the loading belt, as you drop material down there, if your operator is dropping it too fast or too aggressively, this also helps break the gravity. >> Well, that's not a big deal. So, for you guys that are getting maybe getting into demolition, whenever we're hiking a a foundation out, we break it down into as small of chunks as we feasibly possibly can, simply because we can cram more into the dump truck. >> Yes. >> So, when we get the most cuz we don't we don't want big air voids because every hot load out costs us money, and every load in costs us money. What's the price point on this one? >> So, this one MSRP brand new is roughly 109,000. And that's uh with the magnetic roller on the back. If If need the magnetic roller attachment, then it's a little less. It's like 105. >> Okay. What's the warranty on something like this one? >> This is uh same 1 year 1,000 hours, whatever comes first. >> And are you hearing the same results from contractors on this one that they've been able to recoup their initial investment within a year on this one? >> Yes. Yes, I have multiple customers, dozens of customers that have this specific unit recoup their initial investment within the first year. >> Okay. But, small and mid-size ones aren't what you're really famous for. You guys got started by by building the big dogs. And you also have screeners as well. So, there's more to you >> We were always We were actually always known for the small compact mobile. Komptech's been the leader in the world for compact mobile recycling units. That's what we specialize in uh fully. So, we are now getting into the larger units. >> Okay. >> Uh so, we are expanding the line, so we have more options for all of our customers. >> Let's go look at the next one. You got >> Yeah. So, we got uh Not only do we have crushers, but we have screeners, and we have a slow-speed shredder, and we have a a conveyor now as well. So, we really try to have a complete line for recycling systems. >> Which one are we going to look at next? >> Let's check out the 5030. This is definitely one of our most popular screeners. It's 26,455 lb. It is uh a double-deck screen. It's got a 8-ft by 3-ft screen deck. They can separate three end products up to 280 tons an hour. >> So, we're not talking about a crusher. We're talking about differentiating different kinds of material so that you can have You can have your road base, your class five, >> Exactly. >> different gradients of material so that you can utilize them for different applications. >> Exactly. A lot of our customers will either just use this by itself to separate and clean clean the material and filter through and sort, or they'll combine it with a crusher, and they create different DGA RCA material. So, by combining the two together, you now have the capability of offering more materials. But, is there just is there different types of screens that this can can utilize? So, if you want different kinds of material, it's universal enough that you can >> Yes. >> apply different screens? >> You can fine-tune the screens exactly how you want, depending on your material. We have them all in stock at our warehouse. Uh for the aggregates and rocks, you'll have a a punch plate screen on top that will help with, you know, handling that uh impact. And then, we also have wire screens and harper mesh. Uh we have a lot of different types of screens for different applications. So, sizes are not an issue. It's just depending on what you need for your for what you're trying to produce. >> Walk me around and pretend I don't know what this machine is and how it operates. So, let me get a I want to get a very good feel for this code. >> Yeah. So, this machine it unfolds two belts. You have this belt that folds off to the left, and you have this belt also that folds off to the right. The belt that folds off to the left is going to be your fine material, and the belt that folds off to the right is going to be your mids. Your oversized material is going to go off the front end belt. This is great because it's a three-to-two-way split screener, and you can you can change how many products you produce within a minute, pretty much. And you do that by bringing in that front oversized conveyor simply by holding this lever, it brings it in. You would use You would do that also for transportation. But, that brings it in, and basically cuts off the material from dropping onto that second belt for the mids. And all your oversized and mids will go off the front now, and all your fines will still go off the left side. So, now you have a two two different types of material, cuz sometimes people want the the fines separated in their mids and overs all together. >> Absolutely. So, you load here. >> You load here. This will actually uh come down for transportation and then it comes up to load. It's a a belt feed in the hopper, so you can adjust the speed of that belt based on your material. And uh it also has the ability, if you come around here, this back plate will come down, so you can easily feed it with a crusher more easily. You don't have to put the crusher up so high on pads. >> And then where's your screening at and how do we get at this? >> So, the screen control panel's here. It's all remote control, so all you're going to control here is your throttle, e-stop, you have a display with some information, your vibration, your speed of your loading hopper, and then this cuts off the flow to that belt to change the two to three-way split. So, your screens, if you come up right here, you can see we got a wire mesh in here. It looks like 2-in and 1/2-in on the bottom. Or yeah, 2-in and 1-in looks like. >> So, you got a double screen system. >> Yeah, double deck screen. They're They're not interchangeable. They're different sizes, but we keep both sizes in stock and different types as well. >> So, your your smaller material falls through, your larger material is screened, that's where it gets shot out shot out to the front. >> Correct. >> Right? And then below is where your smaller material gets sorted and separated another time. >> Correct. Your your your largest material is just going to flow all the way down off the front belt. Your smallest, finest material is going to drop through both screens and go off this belt here, and then your mid material that can't pass through that second screen is going to then flow down here to this belt and go off the right side. >> All right. Again, what Let's talk about warranty and price on something like this cuz I want to break this down for these guys. So, if they're analyzing this and looking at this, they they can figure out don't know is right for them. >> Yeah. So, warranty again, 1,000 hours or 1 year, whatever comes first. And uh price on this is 209,000 MSRP, roughly. >> That's it? >> That's it. Only 209,000. And uh it's it's a very again, it's 26,455 lb. The length of it's roughly 30 ft. So, it's it's about the weight of a heavy excavator. >> Right. >> Or even a >> Not even a heavy excavator. So, you can throw this one on the back behind a dump >> truck, right? >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Like with a triaxle. >> Yes, we have. We have. Yeah. I have We've done that. We have customers that do it all the time, too. It's a very That's the one of the main things that is great about our equipment. It's they're easy to set up, they're easy to move, they're easy to maintain. We We try to give all of our customers uh the answers they need at their fingertips, so they have everything they need to succeed. We don't want to have people feeling like they're left out to dry. >> Is there something else you wanted to show me while we're in your booth? >> Yeah, let's let's quickly just show you uh a couple of units over here, just cuz we do offer them a shredder, a slow speed shredder, and a conveyor along with our crushers and screeners. So, I'll quickly just show you over here our crocodile slow speed shredder. This is a very versatile machine. I like to call it our Swiss Army knife. It can do concrete, asphalt, wood, garbage, uh light metal. It can do inch and a half rebar. The really only things you're not going to put in here is rock and then like thick cast iron metal, like an engine block. Uh but it will do like uh refrigerators and other thinner metals and like I said, rebar. >> Who's buying this? Who is this one for? >> So, this is for We have a lot of demolition contractors that are just pretty much putting entire houses through…
