Hauling Nasty Stuff to the farm today!

What happens here

The project begins with gathering old, otherwise unusable hay bales from a partner's farm using a John Deere tractor equipped with a hay spear on its front-end loader. These large round bales are carefully loaded onto a white International flatbed dump truck. The hay, described as 'old, crappy, nasty hay,' is destined for areas of the farm with poor soil quality, to be used as biomass for soil enrichment.

Goal: Collect old hay bales for soil building.

Tools and materials

  • Hay Spear — Attaching to the tractor loader to pick up round hay bales
  • John Deere Tractor John Deere — Loading hay bales onto the truck and spreading them
