Prepare Mortar Screed Bed

What happens here

On top of the compacted gravel base, spread a layer of mortar screed bed material (a sand-cement mix is assumed here to align with 'mortar base' in the category). Use screed rails and a screed board to level this layer precisely to the correct height and slope. This creates a uniform and stable surface for setting the pavers.
