Fix stripped door hinge screws! thanks ZZem screw for sponsoring and supporting #repair #door
What happens here
This "DIY" method provides a slightly more robust, yet still temporary, solution for stripped holes on the door jamb. Hammer wooden golf tees into the stripped screw holes until they are snug. Then, break or cut off the excess portions of the golf tees flush with the hinge mortise. Finally, re-drive the existing hinge screws into the golf tees. The wood of the golf tees provides new material for the screws to bite into, offering improved hold compared to the quick fix, but it can still be prone to failure with heavy use.
Goal: Create new material for screws to grip using golf tees in stripped holes on the door jamb.
