(14,090 characters)Okay, we're a mirror girl here. Cushion delivery day. Wow. They look soft. Had a little delivery assistance from my dad. Yep. Uh-huh. You can't put me in the video now. Not in the video? No, man. All right, we'll blur your face out. No, can't do that either. I'll sue you. All right. >> sue you. You got money, man. I'll sue your ass. That's my dad. I'm not even going to hold on to these cuz I got the camera. I don't want to mess mess them up. We're being being very deliberate to not get these dirty right now. [Music] Nice Sunbrella material. Beautiful. Wow, like a glove. Like a glove. You know what? No, like a well-fit cushion. Beautiful. All right. Beautiful. What do you think? I think it looks great. Custom? Custom. Totally custom. Walk us through Walk us through what we got here. What what you ended up, you know, kind of going with and uh the process here. What kind of materials we got? Okay, so started off with drain dry foam because this is exterior upholstery, not interior upholstery. We had to make sure that if it were to get wet, it drains properly. It's not really going to get wet, but it's under a roof, but it should be fine. Anyway, beyond that, we did Dacron wrap on top of it to give it a little bit of um just a little bit of softness cuz the drain dry is pretty firm. Still pretty firm, but it's got a little nice little layer of cushion on top of it. And on top of that is Sunbrella fabric, which is exterior grade material. This one is not quite as heavy-duty as some of their canvases, but it still has like a more comfortable feel when you're on it rather than feeling like you're on some sort of rigid It's nice and soft. Feels like cotton. Yeah, it feels It feels nice. Um but if it needed to be, you could like wash it and power wash it and get some schmutz off of it. What else? What else We went We went custom with this and we've got the backside of this, which was kind of a uh Oh, right. >> Maybe a last I don't know if a last-minute uh decision, but game time decision. >> time decision because after feeling this fabric, and it is not quite as rigid as some canvases are, um we didn't want the traction of the decorators to wear away at the bottom of the cushion. So, we added this sturdy vinyl fabric. vinyl fabric. Vinyl vinyl. Um so, then it's this the decorators it won't pick at it or anything. It'll be totally in it for the long run. And then uh I added a zipper, so A, we could put it on and B, take it off if ever need be. I pray to God these people never have to take this off because it is so hard to wrestle foam into covers. >> Oh, yeah. Yeah, especially this big. >> Yeah, these These ones were actually fine. These ones This one was This big boy was >> Oh, it was difficult? >> Tough. Really? Oh, gosh. She spit it. And then on top, we added some Velcro, so when the time comes and we're ready to leave it here, we will put just add Velcro to this, so then that stays and uh comfy cozy and permanent. So. Beautiful. Custom cushions. 100% >> Complete. Catherine's custom cushions complete. Catherine's Cushion Cafe. Soup of the day? Cushions. >> Cushions. Pew pew. All right, we got uh this old retaining wall coming out. This is a little bit of an add-on. You know, we're we're laying all this uh beautiful hardscape here, and they got this old kind of '90s looking uh retaining wall in this area, and it just didn't look cohesive. So, we're going to tear this out, and we're actually going to install some boulders here. Wow. And just kind of reshape this, so it ties in nicely, and it looks like uh looks like, you know, like we planned it this way. So, we're going to get uh some some big boulders in here. I'm going to pick those up. We're going to get this out. We'll prep it, and um it's going to look a lot better. So, uh we'll get to that. All right, here we go. We are laying pavers again. We really knocked out the the demo on this. [Music] We got all this torn out. We had We had all hands on deck, all six of us working as a team in unison. You know, one one band, one sound. Demoing all these pavers. So, we got them in the dumpster really quick, but uh now we relay it, and um let me show you what we're going with here. So, it's hard to talk cuz these are these are very wet, but um these two are the same color. Granite City. Uh classic combo. Kind of can't go wrong with it. Very neutral gray, two medium gray tones mixed together. Uh I love it. Like I said, that's what we do around here. We're premier. We're not just regular Hope you like it. Outdoor living. We're premier. So, uh they're going to love it, and that's what we do around here. So, we are uh starting here. And we've already got this pattern laid, so in these four corners, we're going to start at these inside corners and work our way out. As we get over here, you'll see we're going to do figured, you know, let's add something since we're redoing it. Uh we're going to we're going to add this detail over there. So, we'll show you how we do that, but um for now, we're going to lay pavers. Paver guy. [Music] [Applause] So, we've got our grid kind of marked out here. We extended this line. We're going to go all the way down here, and we're going to mimic the detail we did over there in this side of the patio. So, what we got is kind of this grid. We're going to have the the double Raven uh O Viana run through this way, and it'll kind of look like this part of the inlay goes underneath and picks up over here. So, now we've got the grid laid out, we can get all of our border in, and then just fill in with mosaics. So, got the pallets over there uh ready to go. Really, it's just going to be run and gun. Lay this in. We'll have a bunch of cuts around the perimeter again, but uh see what we got. Somehow we're going to be short on pavers. I don't know how. We had three pallets before. Each one is like 127 square feet. Did the whole thing. No problems. Had enough to finish. Now we're replacing over 150 square feet with our inlay, so I got two pallets, and somehow we're short. So, I don't know what happened, but uh we're going to need just a couple more layers, really. We're really close uh on this Alpine Contemporary, but uh it's coming together. The rebuild. How's your desk? The music's on. You can't put this part in the vlog. [Music] What's your strategy here behind these uh mosaics? Don't put two the same same orientation right next to each other. Okay. Other than that, save the little tiny ones for for where they're absolutely needed. Okay. They help get you out of a jam. Exactly. You probably don't think about it too much. Then it's then it's not random. Exactly. Start thinking about it too much, you get get yourself all jammed up. So, the nice thing about these is uh you know, they'll fit into any space. They're irregular, uh big joints, but they'll fit to any dimension that you need. So, we don't have to have any cuts on these. Yes, it takes a little while to get them installed, but um they look really cool. They look really cool, and we don't need any cuts with them, which that part is nice. Picking up that detail. Coming over here. We got two laying, two humping. Me and Ant humping pavers. What's so funny? You guys are humping. We got to hump them for you. I'd rather you just move them. [Music] We're moving along on uh all of our all of our revised patio layout. Uh Nick's over there making some cuts to uh finish up, and we're going to start working on this fire pit. So, uh I mocked this up over on this side, so the client could see it. Uh and it's it's pretty simple. So, we've got uh a Verona XL wall on the bottom and top, granite city, so it matches this. And we've continued this double band of Old Vienna in the center. It's going to get us to like the perfect height. Let's see, we're at should be at like yeah, 13. And then with a cap, we'll be at like 15. That's kind of ideal where I like to have it. Um it's like low enough so you're kind of like looking down on the fire. A lot of times you're going to have Adirondack chairs around it, which tend to sit lower, so nice and low, which I like. And we just need to figure out our banding detail to make sure we have even pieces on both ends, and that both rows are staggered. So, I'm just going to lay this out and make sure that we are good to go. We're pretty close with that. We can make these just a tiny bit shorter. Oh, the quarter? Yeah, probably a quarter. What, in the quarter? Yeah. We just want it to be it doesn't have to be like absolutely exact, but we just want like this like basically about a quarter inch on the edge Yeah. of like a reveal. Uh-huh. So, you know, if we like lay them in, we'll dry lay the whole thing first. So, like if someone's got to be cut like Okay. that one's 4 and 3/8, and this one's 4 and an eighth, that doesn't really matter. So, we messed around with this, and we got it laid out now uh just utilizing a full piece, cutting that corner off at a 45, and a little bit of a gap for airflow is going to give us just what we need, and it works out so with us splitting this seam, we're left with approximately half for our corner. So, it's going to work out nicely, and uh this is why I like to dry lay it first, so we can see how everything works out, and we'll do the whole perimeter like this with our first row, get this glued down, and then move to our second row. So, no surprises. So, just uh figuring out our detail for the kitchen, because right here, look what we got. [Music] Look at this kitchen. It's looking looking so nice. We got uh our waterfall top. Beautiful. And what we got going on here is our uh griddle, 40-in griddle, and 32-in grill. And then we're going to run our deck boards lined up with our field boards running vertical here. So, uh just figuring out where we want to put the access door. It's got an inch and a half flange all the way around. So, uh essentially, it'll sit right at this uh bottom stud. So, we're pretty good there. And yeah, we'll just run these. We'll put the framing in, and then we'll do the cutout later. And over here is going to be our fridge, and it's going to be really nice. That's going to be cool. Feel like I'm basically ready to flip some freaking shrimp into somebody's face. You want shrimp? You want shrimp? I want sea bugs. Sea bugs? Sea bugs. Sea bugs. This is really good lighting. So, the light is only coming directly onto your face right now. >> off of the girl and blinding me. Yeah. And it's yeah. Everything else looks dark, and it looks like god is shining down, yeah. So, um why don't you get up and let me sit there, and then you film me. [Music] Looking good. Last couple pieces going in. So, we always wait uh until our top is in, so we can get a nice tight cut up to the top. Looks a little crazy on the camera right now, cuz some of these came out of wet boxes, but uh it's dry or all wet together, all looks the same. But uh yeah, coming across here, last little bit, and it's looking really really good. Nice work. Thanks. Nice work. Pull the racket. I'm cleaning out the tub, so it's easier to get all the cement out. And from the cane off. Perfect. It's easier to do when it's dry or completely wet. It's true. You use a hose or Hose or hammer? Heck yeah. Plants. You know what that means? Means we're getting pretty close. So, I'll show you what we got. Final touches here, and little piece of advice for you. If you're not like a plant person, or you just don't have a lot of knowledge about plants, best thing to do, and I'm by no means an expert on plants, best thing to do, what I just did, uh you know, go in with an idea of what you want to put where, have measurements of your beds, all that good stuff, and then go to a local nursery, uh you know, talk over your plan with somebody that works there that knows about all the plants, and they're going to guide you in the right direction. So, here. Deer resistance is a top priority. Uh deer will jump over that back fence and come in and eat stuff. So, uh we kind of led with that and worked around and we kind of worked around what the deer were not going to eat. So, uh got a bunch of plants here, and you'll see where they go, and we'll walk you through it. This is Liriope. Love this. Stays small, compact, uh has some nice little flowers on it, but uh it fills out beautifully. Looks good with lighting. All these little wisps, I love grasses for that reason. So, we got a couple of those. But uh yeah, get them in. [Music] And again, you can be quick with the water on it, cuz it'll help with the flow. >> We'll work our uh We can just screed for now. Uh I would say I'd say we could screed right here. Okay. Do this whole section and work our way that way. I wouldn't mind doing the pool wall first cuz that means we're way over there and then coming back. [Music] Give it a little more. Yep. Keep moving it around. And just work it in. I should HAVE REMOVED THE [Music] JUST SO I HAVE A CHANCE TO HELP YOU GUYS OUT A LITTLE BIT. DID I get you wet? I'm sorry. No, you're good. So, we're uh using a new type of jointing material. It's a a first two-part resin. So, if you want your joints locked in for justice, this is going to do it. But, uh we'll see how the process goes. A little bit more I don't know if it's necessarily more work yet, but uh more steps to remember, so good thing I'm great with following instructions and not doing things out of order. So, this should be great. But, uh definitely has a little bit more flow to it initially right out of the bucket, which is great. That float time does run out. So, that's why you're moving a little quicker during this process. And again, with GFTK, you can use just about as much water as you need. [Music] Well, that's it for this video. Uh full time lapse will be coming out next week, so stay tuned for all the finished shots. Uh this project turned out incredible, and I can't wait to show you.
