Fencing on STEEP HILLS! Day 2 Farm Fencing Competition!!

What happens here

Jake Wilson (Wilson Fencing) demonstrates tying a high-tensile termination knot on a wooden post. First, bring the line wire around the post. Take the stripped running end of the wire over the unstripped line wire, then push it back towards the center of the post, creating a sharp bend down. This makes a handle to pull. The running end is then wrapped around the main line wire twice, creating two points of friction. For a third point of friction, wrap it back over the woven wire end and then around the line wire again. Finally, bend the running end at a 90-degree angle and rotate it clockwise until it snaps off, leaving no sharp edges.

Goal: Learn how to tie a secure high-tensile termination knot for fencing.

Tools and materials

  • Gloves — Protecting hands while working with wire
  • High-tensile wire Tornado Wire — Creating the fence termination
  • Wire cutter/Pliers — Trimming excess wire or assisting with bends
  • Wooden Post American Timber and Steel — Anchor point for the fence termination
