Apply Wood Filler to Imperfections

What happens here

Begin by identifying all surface imperfections such as nail holes, small cracks, gaps, or dents on the wooden surfaces that require attention. The video shows this being done on a long wooden banister cap, a window sill, and a vertical door frame/trim. Squeeze a small amount of quick-drying wood filler, often tinted red for visibility, onto a metal putty knife. Using the putty knife, carefully apply the filler to each imperfection, ensuring the product is pressed firmly into the defect. Smooth the filler flush with the surrounding wood surface, removing any excess material to minimize sanding later. Allow the filler to dry completely according to the manufacturer's instructions. The red tint helps to easily locate all filled areas for subsequent inspection and sanding.
