Epic Install! Unveiling our NEW snowplow!

What happens here

Install the snow plow's specialized mount onto the truck's front frame. This mount is designed to hold the plow securely and is also galvanized for corrosion resistance. Next, route the thick red power wire from the plow mount through the engine bay, connecting it to the battery via a fuse for circuit protection. Simultaneously, connect the light harness to the factory 16-pin connector, integrating the plow's lights and features with the truck's electrical system. Carefully tuck and secure all wiring using zip ties to prevent damage from heat, vibration, and debris. The installation involves running wires through the firewall into the truck's cabin to power the controller.

Goal: Secure the plow mount to the truck and connect all necessary electrical wiring.

Tools and materials

  • Fuse — Protecting the electrical circuit from overcurrent
  • Hand Tools — General installation, tightening bolts, and routing wires
  • Light Harness — Connecting the plow's lights to the truck's electrical system
  • Power Wire — Supplying power to the snow plow's hydraulics and lights
  • Zip Ties — Securing wiring and preventing chafing

further as he's going. All right, I got the plow mount on there. I'm just getting [music] all the wiring uh plumbed up. I'll zip tie all this stuff up once I get the bumper on there and figure out where I want to put it. But pretty straightforward. Power wire runs through here up to the up to a selenoid to the battery. And then the light [music] harness has some relays on there that plug into the factory 16 pin that comes down, plugs into [music] the plow right here. And then this is the [music] controller side that just goes up. Snuck it along here. connects to the battery with a fuse and then it goes through the factory firewall ran it [music] up under here. Hard to see in the dark. Yeah, ran it up over here. That's where the plug goes, but pretty [music] clean install. Had to tap this red wire into a fuse. Now that everything on that side of things is done, we'll go ahead and start putting this front end back on. You had to pull the headlights, [music] the grill, and the bumper as well, too, to get access to everything, especially to [music] kind of tuck the wires back here. This is a good spot to uh tuck them. So, need to get those headlights out to get to that.
