Install Electrical Box Extension Ring

What happens here

Obtain an electrical box extension ring, also known as a box extender or mud ring. These are readily available at hardware stores like Home Depot or Lowe's. If necessary, use cutters or a utility knife to trim or notch the corners of the extension ring if there are obstructions or to ensure a perfect fit with the existing electrical box and surrounding tile. Position the extension ring around the light switch and over the electrical box opening. The ring should wrap around the switch like a 'sandwich', effectively extending the electrical box outwards to compensate for the recessed position.

Goal: Extend the electrical box to bring the switch forward and flush with the wall.
