Apply Primer and Cement to Vertical Pipe (First Section)

What happens here

Wearing appropriate gloves, open the Oatey Handy Pack. First, apply Oatey purple primer liberally to the outside end of the existing vertical PVC pipe that remains in the ground and to the inside of the new PVC coupling or fitting that will connect to it. Allow the primer to slightly soften the plastic. Immediately after priming, apply Oatey regular clear PVC cement evenly to both primed surfaces. Quickly push the new fitting onto the existing pipe with a quarter turn to ensure a strong, even bond. Hold firmly for a few seconds to set.

Goal: Prepare and connect the first new fitting to the existing vertical PVC pipe using primer and cement.
