What happens here

This video, despite being presented under the context of 'Compost Mulch Application in Garden Beds,' actually showcases the release of ducks onto a farm pond and a detailed discussion about the long-term vision for 'Stoney Ridge Farm.' The farmer outlines plans for land clearing, raising various livestock (chickens, cows, pigs, goats) for food production, and establishing an agritourism venture. No content related to compost mulch application is depicted or discussed in the video.

hey guys it's Josh Stoney Ridge farmer if it looks like a duck and it quacks like a duck it must be some nuts we got some nuts today is the grand day of the great duck release party if you caught yesterday's vlog or if you didn't catch it it's right here come along with me we're gonna go over here we're gonna let the new mallard ducks out on the pond and I'm having an apple nice to have an apple you know they say an apple a day keeps the doctor away well it's kind of true you know why it's not because of the Apple it's because the thought the thought process and a person it takes good care of themselves may eat an apple a day they're gonna see the doctor less frequently think about it come on along with me let's go have some fun all right [Music] new h-bomb sorry guys so if you didn't catch yesterday's vlog my boss her name's Carla and Carla is the crazy duck lady Carla gave me all these ducks she hatched him out from babies and she's had him there at her house basically they've been free-ranging around the yard and whatever and then they go in at night to a little cage that they have and we want to go ahead and put them out on the pond here so we've got them to an age where we can release them and they can fend for themselves a little bit better so wouldn't put them out on the pond let me show you the pond here ponds a little bit muddy right now because we've been working right through here with the timber crew and I don't know if you see that mess behind me but there's a mess of timber a big old timber mess it's to be expected it's okay all the stuff will be cleaned up basically you got to make a mess in order to clean this stuff up so it's a big beautiful farm we'll take you up on the hillside here and we're going to talk a little bit about future plans for the farm and what we're gonna do here I mean it's Stoney Ridge farm Stoney Ridge farmer what is it what are we gonna do we haven't talked about it in a while so let's go talk about it here in a minute let these ducks out first though all right babies first trip in the water hey ducky duckies all right we're gonna prep these guys up on the log here hey ducky duckies you're in your new home it's gonna take him a minute to warm up to the water Keith come on guys come on guys let's go out sounder nice nice the duckies there you go guys look at out happy the Ducks are like a duck to water Carla I know you were really nervous about having the ducks out here but look at how happy they are so neat we're gonna let them play a little bit I'm just gonna sit here and enjoy them guys so pretty outside today how beautiful it is well Ducks just having a blast so while I can still see the Ducks let's talk to you about why I'm letting ducks out on the pond this pond has a layer of green algae that comes on it every year right now it's gone because the timber guys kind of drugged the algae off the top of the water as they cross the dam here but the Ducks are gonna help to eat the grass and the algae off the pond here and there are probably three males and six or eight females so we'll have a little baby duck just add into the nature of the farm you know one day one of you guys might come stand the farm stand sit out by the pond and watch these Ducks beautiful awesome there's a green slime I was telling you about that stuff right there coated the whole pond right now the winds up and it's got it kind of blown out there but when the wind is calm this place looks all slimy it's good for keeping trespassers out not so pretty Josh what's turning Ridge all about what's turning Ridge for them all about well it's been a while since we visited that topic right now we're standing in a spot that was covered with woods this is an overgrown field that was an overgrown field look out here okay we're standing on a high spot here where you can see out over the valley what the goal is is to establish a blank slate what we're doing here on the farm is cutting timber we're clearing fields we're working to establish a blank slate so that we can paint our beautiful picture our beautiful farm what this blank slate is going to provide us with is the opportunity to make this place whatever we wanted so the goal is here to raise eggs to raise chickens to raise poultry like turkeys also to raise cows to raise pigs to raise goats for milk for cheese cows for beef a plan is to raise grass-fed beef my plan is to have about a hundred head of cattle we're going to build a cabin over here the cabin is so people can come and stay on a farm and see what a real farm is like you can come and stay on the farm and check on the back porch and put your feet up and get in a hot tub or you could come and stay on the farm and go around with me as I feed the animals in the morning and see what the inner workings of a real farm are Tony Ridge farm is about bringing people back to food it's about bringing you back to food food that's grown in a beautiful place food that's raised in a beautiful place somewhere not gross not a CAFO not a concentrated animal farm a beautiful place the way our forefathers did treating animals with respect and treating land with respect that's what this is all about guys that's what's turning rich farms all about so as I walk back down through this giant debris field right here which it's gonna look like this for a while it's okay it's gonna go from this to beautiful pasture it will got some work to do while I'm walking down here guys think about it think about where your food comes from would you like to come to a place a place that you can see where your food comes from a place of beauty a place of cleanliness I think you would and that's what started rich farms all about guys we're gonna raise our family and we're gonna raise your family so come on back and see us click that like button down there get that little thumbs up click that little bell it will alert you when we post a new video the Stoney Ridge farmer get out of the factory farms and so that you can see how it's done in real world real life this is real life this is taking back this isn't something my grandma left to me this is taken back land that
