Drilling a well for the farm
What happens here
To extend the depth of the well, the current drilling operation is paused. The operator at the control panel manipulates the rig to retract the drill head upwards from the existing drill pipe. Simultaneously, the second operator, wearing a hard hat, positions a specialized pipe wrench or tong around the exposed top section of the drill pipe. This tool is used to secure the drill string, preventing it from slipping back down into the bore hole once the drill head is disengaged. The drill head continues its upward movement, fully detaching from the drill pipe and moving into a position where it can receive a new pipe section.
Goal: Prepare the drill string for the addition of a new pipe section.

- Hard Hat — Head protection during pipe handling
- Pipe Wrench/Tong — Securing the drill pipe to prevent it from dropping
