What happens here

For steps, install recessed step lights to provide clear visibility and prevent tripping hazards. These lights are typically mounted into the riser of each step or tucked underneath the lip of the tread. To install, mark the desired location on the step riser. If using pre-fabricated step light fixtures, ensure the opening matches their dimensions. Use a hammer drill with a masonry bit or a core drill to create the necessary holes for wiring and fixture housing in stone or concrete steps. For wooden steps, a drill and jigsaw may suffice. Run the low-voltage wiring through the prepared holes, connecting each step light to the main power line using waterproof connectors. Secure the fixtures in place using screws or masonry adhesive, ensuring a flush and professional finish. The goal is to cast light downward onto the step below, providing illumination without causing glare to those ascending or descending.

Goal: Install recessed lighting into stair risers or treads for safety and aesthetic appeal.
