DONT GET BURNED! How to Buy a good Used Skid Steer, wheels v/s tracks and more!

What happens here

Check the quick-attach mechanism for attachments. Test the manual or hydraulic system used to release and attach implements. Ensure it operates smoothly and has been adequately lubricated. Get into the operator's seat and check if the machine fits you comfortably (size of cab, visibility). Listen for the fuel pump when you turn the key on but before starting the engine; it should make a distinct 'tick, tick, tick' sound. If it doesn't, the fuel pump may be faulty. Start the engine and listen for any unusual noises. Test all safety mechanisms, including the seatbelt and safety bar/flaps. Drive the machine around, testing both high and low speeds (if applicable). Pay attention to how the machine feels—is it tight or loose? When you release the joystick, does it come to a smooth stop, or does it throw you forward? If possible, pick up a heavy object or a load of gravel to stress the hydraulic system and check if the auxiliary hydraulics are working correctly.

Goal: Test the machine's operation, functionality of controls, and personal comfort
