DONT GET BURNED! How to Buy a good Used Skid Steer, wheels v/s tracks and more!
What happens here
Start by checking the exterior of the machine. Raise the bucket or forks all the way up and then shut down the engine. Observe if the loader arms slowly settle down over time, which could indicate a hydraulic pump issue or a leak in the hydraulic cylinders. Walk around the entire machine, inspecting the hydraulic cylinders, hoses, and lines for any leaks, cracks, or excessive wear. Note that a little oil and dust on a cylinder rod is normal, but dripping oil indicates a problem. Inspect the rear and front work lights to ensure they are functioning. Check the hydraulic couplers for any leaks or damage. Shake the attachment points for the bucket or forks to check for excessive play, which may indicate worn shims or bushings that need replacement.
Goal: Identify any visible damage or hydraulic leaks on the machine's exterior
