DIY Under Staircase Makeover | Closet to Pantry

What happens here

Carefully place the painted base cabinet boxes into the under-stair area. Use shims or wedges to level the cabinets from both the back wall and the bottom, ensuring they are perfectly plumb and level. Secure the cabinets to the back wall studs through the back stretchers using screws. If multiple cabinets are installed, clamp their face frames together, pre-drill pilot holes, and drive screws to create a seamless unit. Cut side filler pieces from painted wood to fit any gaps between the cabinets and the wall. Scribe these pieces for a custom fit, then attach them using wood glue and brad nails. Finally, install drawer slides, cabinet doors, and all necessary hardware (pulls, knobs) for functionality and aesthetic appeal.

Goal: Install the painted base cabinet boxes in the bar area, ensuring they are level and securely attached, then add filler pieces and all cabinet hardware.

cabin installation went very smooth the most important part is to use wedges to level the cabinet from both the back wall and from the bottom of the cabinet and then securing it to the back wall studs through the back stretchers as well as the sides of the face frames now I recommend clamping the face frames together first level the cabinet with wedges pre drill the pilot holes in the face frame to prevent any kind of cracking or tear out in the wood and then carefully drive three and a half inch screws securing this cabinet in place I cut the side filler pieces for the cabinet painted them the same color as the cabinet scribed from the inside with a pencil to get the fitted size cut it on my table saw and secured in place using wood glue and Brad nails if you're having a hard time getting in place with some clamping pressure you can put little wedges down the sides while the glue dries [Music]
