DIY Twin Built-in Bunk Bed For Kids

What happens here

Use 1/2-inch maple plywood to construct the large storage drawer that will fit under the lower bunk. Cut the plywood pieces to form the bottom and sides of the drawer using butt joints. Apply wood glue to all mating surfaces and assemble the drawer box using a brad nailer. For added durability, reinforce the joints with construction screws. Ensure the drawer is sized to allow a 1/2-inch gap on the sides and is approximately 14 inches deep, based on the bed frame and desired storage.

Goal: Build the large under-bunk storage drawer using 1/2-inch maple plywood, butt joints, glue, and brad nails, reinforced with screws.

[Music] okay so it was important to our arena that we have a storage space underneath the bunk beds um that way we could put extra blankets if kids won't have a sleepover stuff like that so i wanted to create it light because it's going to be a very large drawer so i'm using a half inch not three-quarter half-inch maple plywood i'm just creating a simple joint box around this thing and then we'll slide it in and i just gave it like a half inch gap on the sides and then 14 inches deep so so i'm gonna start cutting it up and assembling with brad nails and uh glue the drawer is assembled with simple butt joints and held together with glue and brad nails now because how long our drawer is i threw in a few screws just to reinforce it well because kids enough said to conceal the side of the drawer compartment i just cut a scrap piece of mdf fit to size and secured it from the inside to the post with pocket holes and screws
