Didn't think I'd get the old Ford Started!
What happens here
After all the topsoil is removed, a large multi-axle dump truck (a different one from the borrowed Ford) delivers several loads of 'So-Lite' crushed run gravel. This type of gravel is chosen for its affordability and effectiveness as a compactable base. The farmer, with the help of his friend Chad, operates the dump truck and skid steer to spread the crushed gravel evenly across the excavated area. The gravel is spread to form a stable foundation for the future shop building and to widen the driveway, which will eventually be about 36 feet wide.
Goal: Create a compactable, stable base for the shop foundation and widened driveway.
