Design. Build. Test. " Monkey Claw" - new equipment attachment

What happens here

The top claws are pre-assembled by tack welding their curved components. Pins and bearings are then fitted into place, ensuring smooth operation. The main body of the top grapple is assembled and prepared for integration with the base. A large plasma vacuum from Lincoln Electric, known as the Mobiflex, is used during plasma cutting and welding to filter smoke and debris, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Goal: Assemble the individual top claws

Tools and materials

  • Bearings — Ensuring smooth movement of the claws
  • MIG Welder Lincoln Electric — Tack welding curved components
  • Pins — Connecting moving parts of the claws
  • Plasma Vacuum Lincoln Electric Mobiflex — Extracting smoke and debris during welding/cutting
  • Welding Gloves Ironcat — Hand protection
  • Welding Helmet Viking — Eye and face protection

so we're gonna go build it so this is going to be the first of the top grapples this will be the protective shroud that surrounds the hydraulic cylinder protecting it from any loose debris so we want to get this to clear so we're actually going to put a camper on this so that we get this to blend into there does that make sense hopefully it does i also found out another fun fact about spence and that he really doesn't like grinding he doesn't mind handing that off so i got to do lots of grinding so what we're looking at right here is the top grapple flipped upside down
