DECK BOARDS As Siding?! - INSANE Backyard Pt 8

What happens here

Vertical battens, referred to as 'sleepers' and often made of mineral-based composite, are securely fastened to the exterior wall over the house wrap. These battens are typically spaced every 16 inches, aligning with the structural studs. Their purpose is to create a rain screen gap behind the composite cladding, allowing for drainage and ventilation, and to provide a solid attachment point for the horizontal siding.

to rock yep all right let's go all right so we're going to start on this exterior facade and we're using the decorator's Voyage deck boards as cladding here so we also have their mineral based composite sleeper system we've got one of them up here and what we're doing is we're going to use these as vertical battens so that our decking stands off of the wall about an inch and a half and all we need to do is put these every 16 in we'll line these up with our interior studs so that it's a nice secure connection locked in for justice it's going to be nice all right sh [Music] n [Music]
