What happens here

Once the metal drip edge flashing is installed, a self-adhering flashing tape is applied over it. This tape extends up onto the house wrap, creating a continuous and redundant weather-resistive barrier. The tape ensures that any water that might bypass the primary flashing is still directed away from the window opening, protecting the building envelope.
