DAY 1 OF 3: Appalachian Heritage Old Timey Hog Killing...Killing and scalding
What happens here
After the initial dehairing of the first hog, a second hog is shown undergoing the same scalding and dehairing process. This segment briefly highlights the repetitive nature of processing multiple animals. Once the majority of the hair is scraped off from both hogs, any remaining fine hairs are singed off using a torch, resulting in a very clean carcass. The hogs are then thoroughly rinsed with water to remove any loose debris.
Goal: Complete dehairing and ensure a clean hog carcass.
