CUTTING CEILINGS. DIY How To Paint A Straight Ceiling Line.

What happens here

This section demonstrates cutting in around crown molding and other trim, which often requires even greater precision due to the intricate details. The painter uses painter's tape to protect adjacent surfaces and applies paint to the wall adjacent to the crown molding using the brush tip, ensuring a straight line. This technique is shown for both the top and bottom edges of the crown molding, followed by back-rolling to blend the paint with the wall texture.

Goal: Precisely paint areas adjacent to crown molding and intricate trim.

to do a ceiling cut in. going to load up the brush. We'll just take and set our brush here and about a/2 inch away. And now we're going to start working the brush up to our cut in and then drag it along. If I want to make corrections, if the cutting didn't get filled in right, I'm going to start the opposite direction, get about a half inch away, and just use a few bristles to draw your line. You don't want the whole brush. Just a few of the bristles are going to come up to the top and basically draw that line for you. We're not using the whole brush to cut it in. We're just using just the tip of it.
