What happens here
Richard demonstrates how to apply the CA glue and activator to the crown molding pieces. He applies a small, controlled bead of CA glue down the middle of one mitered edge of a crown molding piece. This minimizes squeeze-out. Immediately after applying the glue, he sprays the activator onto the corresponding mitered edge of the mating piece. He then quickly presses the two pieces together, holding them firmly for about 8 seconds until the glue sets, creating an instant and strong bond. This process is repeated to assemble an entire outside corner return section of crown molding.
Goal: Create strong, instantly cured, seamless crown molding joints.
Tools and materials
