Cheap Man Lift Project....Still Struggling | New Battery MORE PROBLEMS!

What happens here

The presenter now installs the new Temgo LiFePO4 battery into the Genie lift's battery compartment. He connects the negative terminal first, then the positive terminal, tightening them securely. He notes the battery's built-in monitor for charge level. The existing charger that came with the Genie lift is for lead-acid batteries, so he cannot use it directly with the LiFePO4 batteries. He connects the new Temgo charger directly to the LiFePO4 battery. He then attempts to turn on the Genie lift with the new battery installed. The machine powers on and emits a loud alarm, which was previously unheard. He identifies the alarm as likely related to the "tilt level sensor" by researching it on his phone. This indicates a new problem, likely triggered by the proper voltage of the new batteries, whereas the old batteries were too weak to power the sensor.

Goal: Power the Genie lift with new batteries and diagnose the new alarm.

Tools and materials

  • Smartphone — Researching error codes/alarms (tilt level sensor)
  • Temgo 51.2V 100Ah LiFePO4 Battery Temgo — Powering the Genie lift
  • Wrenches — Connecting battery terminals
  • Ratchet Straps — Securing the battery in its compartment
  • Red and Black Electrical Caps — Covering battery terminals to prevent accidental shorts
